Interior Exterior
Q:
Yes.
Ragnorak resells the PB wing.
Note they have them listed seperate and with different prices. This would indicate they are not the same.
A:
I reckon a black diffusor would really look smick!
A:
By far the best looking wing I've seen on an Elise.
I would like to see some better pictures.

I'll snap some more pix tomorrow.
MX: This is the PB wing.
Crudson: I'll do some interior photos too.
JimK: How do I convince my wife I need the front spoiler?

that's because it's from the Exige.
A:
Glad you like the wing Dave! Have a great weekend mate.
A:
For those who requested more pictures...
A:
And finally, here is my best effort for a rear visibility shot through the micro mirror.
A:
Woah! Looks very nice.
What we really need is a rear mounted camera system. That would help so much for all Elises and the Exiges.
A:
Can you tell us more about the install? Do you have to drill into the car?
A:
How about a pic of the inside of the lid that shows the mounting assembly?
Will she do wheelies now at 120mph?
A:
Dave, looks awesome. How is the difference in feel when opening the rear boot? Is it much of an issue?
A:
Dave - since you might be taking more pictures...how about a nice picture of the whole car.
Sorry to be a pain, but I just can't get a feel for how this thing looks.
I want to see if it compliments the entire car, like the wing on the Exige.
My first impressions are it looks fantastic.

The boot is MUCH heavier to open. In fact, you can no longer use the stock prop rod...it bends to the point it worries me. I've been using one I fabricated from Lowes for the time being. I have a friend that owns a machine company that specializes in titanium fabrication. I'm going to see if he can custom design a replacement rod for me; I'll follow-up on that. To close the boot, I lower the cover until it stops, then push down with my hand over the key hole - no more dropping the lid to close.
More requested pictures coming tomorrow....
A:
could you also post a pic of the wing itself to show the CF weave?
thanks!
A:
Can you post a pic showing how it mounts to the boot lid? Pics from the inside of the boot lid would be helpful.
Cheers,
Patrick

you used to drop the lid? I always lower the lid and press down on the key hole.

Here are a couple.

I used three sheet metal screws for each upright. The rearmost are 1 1/2" and the 2 front are 1 1/4". Under the lid are 2" steel washers, with 1 3/4" wide rubber dampers under each. On the topside, I drew a bead of RTV under each upright (not visible). The wing is amazingly stable, but I wouldn't trust this config at high speeds. I'm currently fabricating an H shaped bracket/support from lightweight aluminum, which will have an additional rubber damper on the crossmember.

What exactly are you screwing them into on the wing?
Isn't there any metal bonded to the bottom of the wing supports?
Is that a nitrous bottle?
A:
does your trunk rod no longer work cause of the added weight?
