Passenger door lock purely random

Interior Exterior

Q:
Sometimes the passenger door lock actuates with the power locks, sometimes not so much. Sometimes when it doesn't I can still operate it manually, sometimes not so much.
I'm not overly mechanically inclined, but I do like to tinker, so I was going to pop off the door pannel this weekend and have a look. Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mike

Are you using the actual key in the lock cylinder? If so, you need to know that it doesn't work like just about every other car out there.
The lock cylinder engages and disengages the latch from actually opening the door. As such, the remote has no effect on it.
If you use the key in the cylinder to lock the car, then it will stop responding to everything until you use the key in the cylinder to unlock it.

Never use the key, always use the remote. As I said, purely random. It's in the garage right now, works fine, I drive it to work, stop to pick up a bagel, locks when I get out, unlocks when I get in. Get to the office, locks fine. Leave for home, drivers side opens, passenger side quivers but stays locked.

Sounds like it needs some adjusting for sure.

I could be a loose conection in the door that expands and loosens when the interior heats up. Should be a simple fix.

Right'o - hope the dealer gives you satisfaction on this, then.
Good luck!

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. Didn't get a chance to take it apart this past weekend, so it will have to wait a couple of days.
