The TMR Elise at the Import show. What is your opinion about the front spoiler/splitter? I am thinking about bringing it to the USA.
I love the splitter... would work great with a nice wing.

Actually I find that Lamborghini style doors don't look that bad on an Elise. I remember an older thread which was a bit controversial talking about whether this type of doors would look ricer or not. I find these type of doors to be very practical when you park in a tight fit.

I pull the driver side as close to the wall as possible, then hop into the passanger seat to get in and out - quick and easy! no prob. with the top on either

The doors.... I'd be worried about weight.
The splitter I like, but it looks a little "thick". I'd prefer a slimmer splitter. Something with a real knife edge to cut down pedestrians with. (j/k)

Such front splitters have to be rather long to use the high pressure bubble building up in front of the vehicle at higher velocity to generate front down force. But they should be allowed only fore race track use.
Imagine you, your kid or your beloved dog / cat is hit by these cutting edges!
IMHO they are nearly as stupid as bull bars used on some “SUV” s.
From the aerodynamic point of view there are other and better solutions because this type of splitter also increases the drag factor relatively much.
That's funny. A friend of mine in the office says they call those bars on trucks "kiddie killers" back in Belfast. Think about that for a sec. If you hit anyone with a vehicle moving any faster than driveway speeds they are pretty much on their way to the hospital. Metal bars, sheet metal, fiberglass it's all equally lethal. So unless you are trying to hit people for fun without hurting them what difference does a bar or splitter make? Every car/truck is already lethal to pedestrians so adding a few more hard things to the front of them hardly makes them more so. If someone steps in front of you chasing a ball or because they are absent minded their only chance to avoid injury or death is YOU managing to get your car around their dumb ass. So, do your best not to hit anyone and put whatever the hell you want on your car.

I don't like how the splitter covers the body contours. Doors are sweet. Many more jumping on them in this thread than the old lambo doors thread. Where is Mr. Robot to tell us how he will laugh at anyone with the lambo doors?

I am glad there are so many positive responses to the doors, last time it was brought up a few of us were bashed for considering it, now that you can actually see them on the Elise people like it.... I am up for the doors!!
Last time I checked they were on ebay for 1000 dollars shipped from the UK I believe.
