Has anybody installed the external gate (it isn't one really, but close) that comes with accessory pack without the shift boot? I.e. letting the linkage mechanism hang bare, is this unwise?

No problem if you don"t mind a little more noise. You even get a cupholder
inbetween shifts. I like the finished look of the plate on a leather covered gear shift cover. All the best. Don.

I thought about getting one of those shift gates, but I'm also getting the short throw kit from Sector 111 and not sure if they work together. The lever from the kit might be too thick...
