60% airflow grill???

Interior Exterior

Q:
Ditto Jacob's sentiments; thank you all for your input. We were able to go the "safe" route and not overwhelmingly compromise the aesthetic we were going for.
We choose a stainless steel mesh, I believe 305. I could be wrong on the #. In any event, we were assured it wouldn't rust as it's apparently used to make water fountains. New question: will it blue when used over the radiator and engine outlets? We're actually hoping it will...

Just in case - anyone have a laminar airflow workstation we could borrow???

Hi Serebo1, You are talking about 304 stainless, no it will not blue at such a
low temp. Stainless steel is similar to mild and alloy steels; it is a alloy of iron
that contains at least 12% chromium. this high chromium content rertards corrosion giving the steel its ''stainless'' quality. 304 is susceptible to corrosion
at high temperatures 800 to 1590 degrees.
All the best, Don.
A:
Don brings up a good point, some stainless steels WILL rust in some environments. See if you can get 316 if possible.
A:
Not so. Remove inner fender liner and remove two bolts. They come right out. Good to know. Thanks!

Jacob and I are motorin' right along, making mistakes at every step of the way, but it's a learning experience... here are a few pics so far... Incidentally, the pic at the bottom should read, "Fuel line" (hose).

for anyone thinking of doing this mod, it's a pain in the *ss!!! But the outcome is worth it. The picture really doesn't do it justice.
I wanted to say thank you to Michael at Sandsmuseum for the fantastic instruction and guidance. We couldn't or wouldn't have done it without your site.
Next week the front grill and engine covers!!!!
A:
Anyone care to put their templates on paper and show measurements?
Anyone care to sell them?

I dunno. To me it just looks like someone stole those nice louvers and replaced it with cheap wire mesh.

I guess they don't do mesh in prep-school... I didn't think they did plastic, either Seriously, the pictures don't do it justice. When the install is more finished in appearance, I'll post again.
