door hinge pictures, animated

Interior Exterior

Q:
While I had the clam off, I took some time to examine all the wonderful Lotus engineering.
Like many of you, I am impressed with the aluminium extrusions. I especially like the door hinges.
I took the time to photograph the hinge both in open and closed positions. take a look at the bottom of the following page. Mouse over the picture and off to see the door open and close.

You need to move the image of the pedal back up the page. It got pushed away from its caption.

Mike, may I ask what color your Elise is? It's absolutely gorgeous in the photos, but I'm not terribly familiar with all the shades of grey. My guess would have to be Graphite Grey.
A:
I agree. I think that the door hinge is my favorite part of the car.

Michael, What color is your car?GG? I couldn't get GG so will p/u ST with black interiorthis Thursday. Have you seen ST with red seats? Which would you prefer and why. There's a chance I can get red interior if I pay labor costs, $300. Hope to meet you at one of Bay Area events. Thanks, Duane

My car is storm titanium. I frequently revise pictures to bring out the contrast and to slightly sharpen. (I wish I had a camera like Stan's!)
I do not recommend any of the silver colors for the Elise. I have had my car for over a year now and love the color when it is standing still. However when you are on the road, driving, the silver color blends with the roadway and the general background. People have a hard enough time seeing the small Elise but having it the same color as the ground makes matters worse.
If I had it to do over again, I might pick the green (racing, not kermit), or one of the blues.
