Q:
Dear All:
After a recent Auto X, I noticed that a very minor portion of my starshield on the passenger side door skirt sustained a small tear. It's probably the equivalent of a small hangnail. My questions remain:
1. Does one go ahead and just tear off the hanging portion of the starshield as to save further and longer tear?
2. Is there any type of adhesive or element to place back into the torn sliver?
3. If there's any additional suggestions as to handle this situation.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

I found a piece of my starshield actually in a curl hanging off the left rocker panel. I just pulled it off as I am planning to get the two rocker panel starshield pieces replaced in the spring.

If the StarShield was just pulled back, the adhesive is still on the film. If the film is in good enough shape, you should be able to activate the adhesive with an alcohol/water mixture and press it back in place. I've never tried that, but it seems it should work.

Agreed if the adhesive is still good and the tear is not too ragged.
I had a "chad" or "skin flap" the size of an eraser on my lower sill area. I cut it off.
