Interior Exterior
Q:
I'm going to order a set from the dealer and was told that I could have it in leather or alcantera. Who has them and what is the material? How do they seem to wear with time?
TIA

Hi Babak,
Ron Avery has some door sill pockets on his car.
Here is a link to his post with a pic:
His pic is about halfway down the page. Full shot of car interior with sill pockets on passenger side.
I'm pretty sure there are other pics somewhere else, but I would contact him and get the info.
Hope this helps.
Wayne
P.S. I mailed your Elise plaques today. You should have them by Monday.

I was actually looking at those and that's where I got the part number. I have the option of leather vs. alcantera and didn't know how they held the test of time. I'm leaning toward the alcantera.
Thanks for the plaques.

The door sill pockets don't wear because they don't touch anything. Note that there are both shallow and deep versions. I opted for the deep version in leather, which holds a total of 4 CDs (two each side). Not much additional storage, but any little bit helps! See this thread for pictures of the pocket and the installation process, although I have since been told they would have been easier to install by lifting the sills.

I have leather side pockets for the non-touring cars. No evidence of any wear. I'm not putting things in or taking things out very often. They should last "forever".
