Best place for Colin's signature?

Interior Exterior

Q:
Hey guys,
I recreated Colin Chapman's signature so that I can cut it in any color or size sticker I want. I like the idea of adding the sig. somewhere on the car. Yes, I know it's been debated and I know he is dead and did not design this car. But like others I believe his philosophy and spirit lives on in the car. A continuation of the company he founded. Since my car is CO I will add it in black if I put it on paint, or orange if I put it on glass or a sill or something.
Anyway, locations?
I don't really want to put it on the exterior body.
I'm thinking in the door jamb would be a good spot. Other area's I'm kicking around are the inner aluminmum sill, front divider area, lower portion of center console, under engine cover, lower corner of rear glass......
Don't worry, It's just going in one location, not all. haha.
Input? Suggestions? Flame?
Thanks.

Engine Cover gets my vote, assuming your engine cover is painted. Then some coats of clear over it.

Of the cars in SoCal that I've seen with Colin Chapman stickers, they have been applied either on the back bumper or on what you'd call the B-arm/Gas cap area, except on the side without the gas cap. But since you don't want it on paint, maybe the rear window?
Flame? I hate stickers, so I'll probably taking the Queen's award off soon.

How about on the face of the roll bar cover?
A:
I stuck mine in the rear window, along with a couple other stickers

some good ideas guys, keep em coming.
Sleepless, I think I sent you those decals, didn't I?
I also noticed in your pic, that big black plastic plug on the deck by the windshield. What is that? Mine doesn't have that. Seems to look a little cleaner without it. My apologies if it's something you've added

Yes, thanks for the Elise logo stickers; haven't installed them yet.
I forget what the ugly plug is for (I think some cars in Europe had an antenna there). The hole was elliminated on later cars. I just ignore it

Here's another option from the track day at thunderhill wednesday

Sector111 has a nice badge that will fit over the hole if you remove that ugly plug. It's the same as the nose badge and looks much nicer than the plug. They call it the engine lid badge. http://store.sector111.com/lotusbadges.html

Here's another option from the track day at thunderhill wednesday I like that, understated. But my vote is still for the engine cover. How does one aquire the said sticker?

Just PM me and let me know the size, color, and quantity you want.

Well I ended up putting it on the painted area in the drivers side door jamb above the other factory decals. So with the door shut and the window up you can still see it on the painted surface. Gives a nice personal touch, people think the builder actually signed it. So far all press has been postive. haha. I'll post pics when I get them off the camera, hosted, reduced, etc. So in another words- probably no time soon.
A:
Hmmmm, let's try the picture thing. This is where I decided to put it. Give me feedback, good or bad? I'm asking for it. I like it, so I guess that's what matters. We are all entitled to our own opinions and so are you, so give em to me.

It's not a font, it's Colin's Signature that's been vectorized. That would be like if your handwriting was in times new roman.

What about on the front license plate block?

No idea what font. Most corporate logos aren't a font, they are usually just a few hand drawn letters. Sometimes they modify a font (like VW removing the serifs from the font they use for their Volkswagen Racing windshield banners) or sometimes an independent artist will later on create the rest of the letters to match what a company, band, or movie is using for their name. The Elise logo is the same way, perhaps is is a font out there somewhere. I have around 4000 fonts on my computers, sometimes its just faster to vectorize or hand draw something you know you want rather than searching through all those to come up dry or start modifying a similar font.
A:
Yeah, no self-respecting graphic artist would pick a font and just bang out the word "L O T U S" if for no other reason than they wouldn't be able to bill twenty hours for that.
