How often do you wax your Elise?

Interior Exterior

Q:
How often do you wax your Elise?
A:
Not too often. I would guess every 1500-2000 miles. It's one of the few things I don't keep track of.
A:
once a month
A:
Ditto. Once a month for me too.
A:
I use Eagle's Wax As-U-Dry spray when I wash. Not the best wax but then I probably won't be waxing very often.
A:
about once a month with zaino, but I use the gloss enhancer/inbetween cleaner about once a week.
Actually waxing.... I have only put one coat of meguirs 26 on there, but now that I found out zaino is compatable I am going to use actually wax to give it that extra shine more now...stan recommended s100
A:
Actually, I've had mine 3 wks and I've waxed:
Week 1: Meguiar's Gold Class Caranuba wax (paste)
Week 2: Meguiar's Next Gen synth wax (liquid)
Week 2.5/3: Dupont Teflon Spray wax
Week 4: (estimated) AutoSport Caranuba wax liquid
Week 5: Same as 4 (estimated).
Once you get that nice wax base maintaining it is eaaasy!
I don't have a problem do I?
It's not an addition, I promise!!
Thank god for random orbital sanders...

Every 4-6 months with a synthetic sealant base (Klasse, Zaino, etc) and then top with something else every 2-8 weeks that is less durable but better looking. On top of Klasse SG, something like Platinum UPP or Menzerna FMJ (Liquid polymers). On top of Zaino, I don't see the point of adding more coats monthly after the initial 3, so I just do Z8.
It mostly depends on how often I'm washing my car and how much time I have. Some waxes/sealants need refreshening because their appearance drops off, others because the protection fades. With many products it is both. So it's less a rule of thumb by time or mileage, but by evaluation of the surface.
My record was almost 9 months between "waxings" where my Zaino was just about dead.

A:
umm every 2 weeks. with a special wax blend ( liquid ) a long established detailer made up for me ( 80.00 a gallon ) it's amazing... makes the car very slippery and does not build up.
A:
I wash it every week and waxed for first time with Meguiars Gold Class a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice finish but to be honest didn't notice much difference after a few days.
A:
get mine pro. detailed twice a year, wash in between. i only drive my car on the weekends though and it doesnt get rained on. the saffron yellow doesnt look soooo much better after a detail. now my previous black car on the other hand, that was a bi monthly thing
A:
Once a year... maybe.
A:
Once a season with Zaino and gloss enhancer in between. By doing it once a season, I know exactly how long it's been since my last wax and that I need to do it again next week.
A:
I detail and clean with "liquid glass" everytime I drive the car. I also live on a 1/4 mile dusty dirty farm road that I must drive 5mph down just to keep the dust down. But the thought of walking in to my garage and seeing my Elise dirty or dusty would make me sick!!!! I presently drive the car about twice a week so I hope I'm not overdoing it and causing paint damage? According to the makers of liquid glass "the more layers, the more the shine"...we'll see after years of use!!!!
BTW...I own a yellow one to hide the dust...I should have bought Aztec-yellow still shows!
A:
14 months of ownership, 4 coats of wax. I'm overdue.
A:
About 3-5 months for a synthetic, about once a month for carnuba (p21s), spot polish as needed, major polish once a year to two years.
