Q:
Everyone has been asking....How do I keep my sills from becoming scratched and messed up.
Very shortly, Blackwatch racing will be handling my latest product the sill protectors.
These are VERY durable GE Lexan with 3m Adhesive on the back. Just place on the sill and away you go.
Please check out blackwatch racings web page in a few days.
Thanks
PatS
PS Sorry I can not get the pictures to insert.....Help...
A:
can you describe what they look like?
A:
I just had 3M paint protection film installed there while I was having the rest of the car done. I am going to make the Elise logo to go on top of it though in either brushed aluminum or black.

I saw Pat's sill protectors on Stan's car and I was very jealous. They are black, look great and cover the part I'm always dragging my foot across. My sills need help, so I will be ordering.

How does that stick to a textured surface? My sills are taking a beating as well.

looks good, how easy is it to replace one after the protector itself gets damaged?
A:
That looks very good. Better than I expected.
A:
How much?
A:
Oh, nice. I was thinking of the rocker, not the sill. Yeah, my paint protection is on the painted area. My sill is currently unprotected but these look nice so maybe not for long.

They stick with a 3m adhesive. I am after a combination here of sticking strong enough so that people do not complain they are pealing them off and not too hard that you can not get them off a year from now. The test vehicle, Stans car we did not even clean the sills....We just slapped them on.....they have been on ever since. I grabbed the end of one last weekend, had to work at it but I was able to peal half of it up.....Then I pressed it back down....I did not want to trash his sill protector.
Worst case you will have to use some 3m adhesive remover or something like that to clean off any residue.
I also have a foot well piece to cover the passenger side foot brace but I can not find the picture.
Final pricing I believe will be somewhere around 60.00 however Blackwatch may offer it at an intro price to get it moving. They have the final say on that.
The lexan is VERY tough....Tougher than the sill material...It will take a heal scratch and it can be hidden with pledge or one of your favorite vinyl car products...
The picture you see is from Stans car after about two months of use!!!!
In the future I hope to add custom Logos, car clubs, names......but for now......Black....simple....

It's casting a deep shadow, like it's not actually stuck down. How is it mounted? Does the logo/aluminium itself get scratched easily?
Edit: Nevermind, I'm looking at the wrong part of the picture. Sill? Rocker?

The black thing is the sill protector...it fits dead flat and the material is uber-strong.
The silver bit is a messed up Lotus accessory that they sell for our cars but that fits Esprits. A pair come with those silver Elise plates you can stick on the front of the car.
A:
The Sill Protector will be $49.95 for the first batch.
PM me, or send mean email throught the Blackwatch website if you'd like a set from the first group.
I'll get them up on the site next week when I'm back in town.
A:
I dont seem to hit that portion of the sills, most of my marks are more in front towards the light switches. Maybe I get in&out funny
A:
My scuffing is also in front of the protected area. It looks great, though.
A:
What are you guys wearing, high heels? Must be tough to heel/toe...
I'm sure that a super-size version can be produced. Could you post a picture of your scuff-zone?

Not high heels, just long legs. I couldn't bend my legs tight enough to get my heel into the area the ones shown in the picture cover.
A:
I have a similar problem in that my right leg doesn't have full flexation as I'm recovering from ACL repair. I push myself up on the seat bolsters, drop the left leg out of the car, and swing out the right. The sill is scuffed and my car only has 450 miles.

I am in the long leg category too. Would like to see the protector extended a few inches front and back, emphasis on front. I'll be out of town for a while so pics may take some time.
