Q:
Anyone hear anything about this?
I see the spoiler for the front of the Elise, but could not find anything covering the rear.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

An excellent place to start is checking out this thread regarding aerodynamic aids:
Unless you are very carefull and work with wind tunnel/ track tested aero add ons it is possible to really screw up the car's high speed handling balance.
A:
I understand that fully...I was concerned because the mentioning of having a front spoiler without a rear spoiler to control down force could play a significant part in handling and stability at high speeds.
Thanks for the article.

The book, LOTUS ELISE THE OFFICIAL STORY CONTINUES has a whole chapter on aerodynamics.

Does it explain why the exige has a wing and a front spoiler and the elise does not? This always bothered me. Exige also outperformend elise on every track comparison I've read (81.75 vs 82.80 @ Evo mag august 04). Exige has better aerodynamics, it is a fact everyone knows. I say putting the wing and spoiler on the elise will only make it better, no matter what lotus says.

The rear contours of the s2 exige are somewhat different to that of the Elise so the rear wing may have the wrong angle of attack.
You'll have more aero drag with the spoiler/wing kit so your top speed will go down.
If the kit works and your cornering speed goes up, you'll recover the lost top end in the track environment.

We will have our 1st rear wing (Pre-Preg CF with Aluminum stay) here in about 2 weeks. I don't know how you guys will like it's design but at least it's been track tested and proven.

Is there a pic of it anywhere?

Stock S2 Sport 190 lapped faster than an S2 Exige in a head to head test. It's not that much of an advantage having a wing. Chassis setup has more to do with the Exige going faster than having a tad more downforce.

Here is a pic of the CF wing (pre-preg). I know that some of you may not like it, but it works and you still have access to the trunk and Engine bay with ease.
A:
When can we have it!
PS More pics further away please... I think it looks pretty darn cool!

WHen you say your first do you mean your only getting one? I seriously may want one of these. What is the cost? Please don't say $1000.00+ for a wing

Is this from the UK or Japan? Where was it tested and what were the before and after results? Looking at it from the pic you posted it would appear not to be Reverie so I guess it's Jap....
A:
won't it vibrate more as shown?
Do you get a set of lift struts for the engine cover? It's going to hurt when it comes down.
I'd like to see it in proportion with the car as you could.
what I see looks nice.

Here are some quotes from the book,
The Chapter Aerodymanics. "Aerodynamically the car has come a long way from the initial concept, with the latest car having balanced downforce in all conditions, aiding its accolade of being the best handling car in the world."
"As for Audi, the major solution [for the TT] was a back wing/spoiler. Just the add-on feature the stylists vehemently wanted to do without in both cases."
From the Chapter, Modified Elises, and under the Aerodynamic heading, "... this is not a car to go sticking wings on willy-nilly. As we've already discussed too much grip at the front causes rampant oversteer, so the last thing you want is a modified front spoiler."
"However it is worth commenting on the Exige aero appendages. That deep front spoiler and huge rear wing really do work, and at speed on the track, the Exige produces serious downforce. One without the other, though, would be a disaster.

Yes, for now. We will show this set up at the West Coast Lotus meet in June. We want get some feed backs from people before we start selling them. And yes it will be more than $1000.00. But we may produce one for less than that as well.

From Japan. Tested at the Fuji Speedway and Motegi. All I know about the results are a noticeable better lap time than the stock Elise. The Reverie one is on the way to the U.S. as we speak.

No, because the Engine lid has a reinfocement for the Wing towers (a guy who designed this wing does this for his living. he is not stupid). No struts needed. the wing is very light. You can use your hood stand.

Is this piece meant to be used in conjunction with some sort of front splitter to balance the change in downforce distribution?

Yes. You should have some sort of front spoiler/splitter. There are several choices now available ( but not much in the U.S. ...yet ).
