I am getting really frustrated with Lotus.
I got my car in April from Maplecrest Lotus, and bought it unseen.
First disappointment was that Lotus Maplecrest delivered the car with a obvious delamination on the front clamshell near the right blinker light where the panes are joined together. There is no way that Maplecrest did not see that when they prepped the car.
On my way home I got the 1K checkup at Scottsdale. They took pictures of the damage and passed it on to Lotus.
The lotus dealership in Honolulu is not very responsive and says they are not getting a response from Lotus. Maplecrest simpley recommended I call 1800-24Lotus. Has anybody tried that?.
Option 2 (service) has an answering machine with nobody returning calls and option 4 (warranty cases just rings dead.
If you have any suggestions how to light a fire at lotus please let me know!. I love this car but this is getting ridiculous.
I paid a lot of money for a brand new car I expect it to be without delaminations !

Got a call yesterday from Andy at Lotus (Warranty Manager)
And he said he'd take care of the problem.

I think a general trend is begining to be demonstrated, that in time - Lotus USA will do everything they can to set things right ! ...now if they could just vet out their dealers a little better so that they don't have to set things right as often. I think all in all - this has been a good year for Lotus if you consider what they have accomplished with what they have to work with.

I wonder if the delamination isn't actually collision damage- potentially inflicted during shipping or by the dealer?

Get the Lotus Reps involved...they visit each dealer at least once a month...and are very knowledgable and helpful can-do type people.

I do not believe so the shell does not have a scratch and if it was a collision damage I'd expect a a wider area to be damaged. the delamination is 1 inch long.
