Which Schroth Harness?

Interior Exterior

Q:
just got some exige cloth seats for my elise (thanks british marques!).
i have the lotus sport bar installed and am gearing up to do a proper harness install. i've decided on Schroth due to reputation and the excellent install guide i found here. I am inclined towards a 6pt with the lower belts run through the chassis with backer plates etc as some here have posted about.
however, a local dealer told me that Lotus was testing the sport/exige style seats for sub strap integrity but "they have not passed the strength test required." while it is not clear whether this is a marketing or safety issue, it worries me.
that said, i am bewlidered by all the Schroth models. as best as i can sort them i am down to:
profi III-6 6 pt with a 3" lap belt (do i want a 2" belt?")
profi II-6 6 pt with a 2" lap belt (do i need a 3" belt?")
profi II-ASM 4 pt with no sub belt
add to this that i might want a HANS at some point which means there are several other models to choose from.
what have others chosen?
TIA.
A:
If you plan to go with a HANS device do not get ASM. I've got Profi II-ASM with the 6 pt lower belt.

thanks, i read that in the Schroth guide.
is the ASM basically a choice of a stretching shoulder belt in conjunction with an airbag over a HANS?
why did you choose the 2" rather than 3"?
thank you.
A:
ya pretty much. It is also intended to be used as a 4 point when you don't have proper sub belts. My sub belts are mainly to keep the buckle in place(I'm really skinny and have had issues with rising buckle on other 4 points in previous cars), and the ASM is to prevent the sub'ing.
Honestly choose them because I was exchanging the a different set of belts with Sector111 and these are the ones that they carry and they had the install kit for them. I'm not sorry. I Was a little worried about the 2" also but its not a problem with these things at all. I had 3" 4 point and 2" 4 point in the past and I actually really like the combo of the 3" shoulder and 2" waist.

I've got Profi-II ASM FE's with RFR cam lock buckles. Going that route made for a simple, clean install.
I only wish they were pull-up rather than pull-down.
The important thing is to do what:
a) you're comfortable with
b) passes whatever tech. you need to get through
A:
One thing to consider if you use car as daily driving (and in particular if using OEM belt on street, the 2" belts are less "bulky" in cockpit which tends to be skimpy on space.

I have run on the track with and without the hans device. after using the hans device on the track, there is no way I would run without it ever. forego the asm and get one that is hans compatible. also if(when) you get the hans device, my experience is that harness shoulder pads get in the way of the straps fitting over the device properly, hence I am selling my super nice harness pads.
as far as your question about marketing tool or actual safety reasons for schroth, my observation is that its all about safety with schroth!
enjoy. HPDE doesnt require any harnesses to run, all the clubs I have done trackdays with DO require a 5-6 pt. harness to run in the RACE groups.

thanks that was helpful.

did you mount these to the chassis or to the seat mounts? i spoke with HMS today and they reccomended the Profi-II FE but with the lap belts mounted to the seat anchor points.
I only wish they were pull-up rather than pull-down.
why? i would think pull down would be easier.
thanks.

thanks, am thinking about the hans.
the marketing or safety issue was not with schroth but with lotus -- i.e., whether it was advisable to cut a sub strap hole in the stock seats.
