And the open box......

BTW - Among other things, we're working on fitted luggage. The first round came in too conservative, so they're playing with materials to do something more fun.
Would love to be a fly on your development wall.

Hmm. First mod would be velveteen lining or something similar. I can just imagine the racket of items stored banging around in that breadbox...

that box is a pretty slick idea as well!

Hey, I'll call some contacts at 3M and get a stash of woodgrain film. We can mock up an Elise lickety split...
BTW: Nice storage box!

Shinoo... let me know if you want it, and I can make up some box drawings for fabrication with some enhancements to the design too. I need the car first though.

Bell & Colvill in UK did custom leather luggage for S1. (Which obviously would also suit an S2/S3) Really nice (but expensive) leather bags with logo pressed into the leather. But you can buy (good) soft bags anyplace much cheaper......
(Can you tell from these posts that I am a storage nut ? Ex mobile home kind of person !!)

Randy, sounds good. We've got a number of interior storage ideas in the works. Black Watch Racing has some nice goodies in dev as well. Between the lot of us we should be able to come up with some nice solutions - especially for those weekend getaways with the significant other....or trips to the track!

Please make one that won't scratch the aluminum. I look at that home made job, and while ingenious, I cringe at the though of the damage its doing to the finish.

Waelsie,
I think the the toyota powered cars have slightly shallower narrower trunk space because of the engine. Don't know if it's enough to make a diff on the fitted luggage or not.

The box is interesting. It takes the place of the passenger foot rest. Getting things in an out might be a problem, but still it works. I like the fire extinguisher as a added touch. Now a similar, item but smaller for the tray along the bottom of the dash.
Once I get the car I am sure I will have plenty of ideas, but no way to produce them.
The wait drags on..... It is particulary difficult for my wife as she is pregnant and due the first week of October. She is upset that she may not be able to ride/drive the car by the time it gets here. We are #8 at Overseas Motors in Dallas.
Will I be able to fit a car seat in the passenger seat? Of course, I would diasable the airbag first. I hear babies like to go for car rides to fall to sleep. I think Corvettes have child seat anchors in them, in Canada, at least.

Especially soothing is the high cam note with the top open. Knocks 'em out every time...

Isn't the front filled with a ducting system that takes the air from the front of the car to the gap on the hood? Hence, the downward pressure on the front of the car when at speed.
That would mean there is very little space inside the car. There is a luggage/bike rack that mounts over the engine compartment.
I remember reading about a Ferrari that had no luggage space. For trip the author suggested sending out your butler in the Rolls with the luggage.
Four cubic feet for a trunk is fine. There is enough room for the golf clubs - two sets - strap the passanger on the luggage rack.
What do you guys want a Lotus trailer for the Elise?
Nick

It's not more space that we are looking for, but rather to be able to use that space efficiently. And to keep our valuables semi-safe and from flying around the car at speed.
Ok, some want tire trailers. And some nut has come up with a way to make an airplane out of it.
Most of us just want to put order to the potential chaos of having items loose in the car.

Agreed. Even a small amount of interior locking space would go a long way.

More storage question: Referring to the space behind the seats where the speakers and the storage net of the Lexus option resides, just how much space is there? If I take out the speakers and the storage net and the whole assembly that is connected to the frame, can I make some kind of storage back there?

Where can I get one of these boxes?

Of course that box could be modified very little and would become a removable subwoofer!
