Actually, I preferred the way the covers look the way I did it! IT's pretty much how they'd actually come out if what was black was painted yellow.
A:
I just cleaned it up to give it a more realistic look. What do you think now?
A:
It's based on what TechArt does with the Porsche 996 lights.

Maybe de-blue the lenses?

Where is Zoomz?

IMO... it looks like A$$... let a great design stay great.

I kinda like the tech art one ... I like the side and rear styling on our cars much more than the front. I might actually prefer the S1 front end. Steve

If it is anything like an MR2 Spyder (I know a couple people who have done this), you have to be careful getting the parts apart and putting them back together so moisture doesn't get inside. The site admin of www.spyderchat.com, DaSpyda, knows how to do it for that car. I believe he put the whole headlight assembly in the oven at a low temp (maybe 200F) for a while to soften up the rubber seal. Kids, don't try this at home unless you are willing to risk messing it up.
Idea: Someone could figure out how to do it right and offer an exchange service.

The Elise headlight lenses are not sealed.

I wrote that because of this:

The headlight covers are made of at least two parts bonded together. The clear part (including any black "painted" portion) is firmly attached to the "black" plastic cover that hides the headlight parts and just allows the lenses to poke through. I would think it would be very difficult to separate the parts for painting.
Maybe I misinterpreted that. I would think that there would be a problem with moisture, particularly condensation, if it were easy to take apart for painting.
A:
They have a drainage or vent hole in them. So they are not sealed.

looks like it is "blind" (eye patched).
I prefer factory 99% of the time with the exeption of the wheel/tire package.

Im actually glad you tried it with photoshop as I am a big fan of the Modena's headlights. Having seen it on the Elise now I can can say it just doesen't do the trick for this car.

I like it with the yellow surrounds with the black stripes, very nice
