Busy mod/install weekend

Interior Exterior

Q:
Wife's in Chicago for the weekend on a training course so I'm alone with the rugrats...
While they're asleep (naps/bedtime) I've been mod/install happy!
I did the alarm range extender mod - I can now lock/unlock at ~60' instead of ~20'. Took about 15 minutes.
I replaced the front orange turn signals with regular clear 1156's. I HATED that you could see the orange bulb through the plastic. No more. The incandescent glow has a light-yellow tinge to it anyway. Took 10 minutes tops.
I installed Chotto's Challenger grill. Took about 2-1/2 hours. Hardest part was removing the top part of the stock grill. I also removed the rear heat shield in preparation for my 6" 2bular diffuser exit exhaust...
With the rear part of the diffuser lowered I installed my Sector111 NordLock washers that were part of their T-Shirt promotion. Took a whopping 15 minutes for both sides, including torquing both sides to spec 50nm.
I installed the FF half-carbon splitter. Looks amazing. Took just about an hour. I had a drawer full of integrated self tapping screw/washer fasteners from my old delSol. They worked perfectly. I also replaced the three 8mm HEX bolts with longer/stronger looking stainless steel Philips machine screws. It's on STURDY. It looks like it BELONGS on a Graphite Grey car. Yummy! New ground clearance is 4.05" Yikes! I haven't driven it yet (can't leave the house with a 2 and 4 year old inside!)

Now all my parts that were sitting on the shelf have been installed. I'm a happy boy!
Weights:
Stock rear grill + hardware: 4.945 lbs.

Removal of metallic rear exhaust insulation: 0.795 lbs.
Net Change: -4.210 lbs.
Front splitter: 3.055 lbs.
3 bigger bolts: -0.075 lbs. (lighter!)
5 Integrated self tapping screw/washers: 0.050 lbs.
Net Change: +3.030 lbs.
Overall change in vehicle weight: -1.180 lbs.
Here's a few quickie camera phone pics (wifey has nice camera):
Enjoy!
It's time for some Scotch on the rocks (Isle of Jura - Superstition). Mmmm!

I like the way the splitter looks on your car. Very nice!

David, you need help But it looks great. I need to hit you up for some supervision doing some of these mods. Beer/pizza sound like a good trade? Or should I throw on a pot of curry?

Mmmmmm Curry!!
Just make a little bit more for the Nationals dinner... Tupperware is an amazing invention
BTW, do we have a firm date yet? I'd like to RSVP with Janie and me... need a sitter though!

Nice work Dave, looks fantastic!
Edit...I now see the 2bular through the diffuser.

Looks Great! I also have a GG and thinking of the FF spoiler. Did you have to clear coat or does FF do this already?

Edit...I now see the 2bular through the diffuser. I can IMAGINE what it will look like... but Jim's still welding it up for me. It's supposed to get here late September. I had a couple "special" requests that I wanted... (no logo plate and flush tips)...
Hey does anyone know if the exhaust has to be dropped to put the FF header in? (I really don't want to open/close the rear end up THREE times )

Well, I guess I'm just seeing things on that 4th photo...my laptop resolution sucks. I don't believe you need to drop anything with the FF header. I have the Arqray bypass, DC header, and 2ubular 6" and all bolted right up. Be sure to post another pix when done

I installed my FF half-carbon fiber splitter this weekend too. I also ended up with right at 4" of front end clearance.
