How does your soft top fit?

Interior Exterior

Q:
Ok I put the soft top on my car once already and it doesn't seem to fit very good. When it's all installed there is a gap between the door windows and the top. It's about 1/16th to 1/8 inch gap that I can see through. There is no way I could keep water from coming in.

My dealer told me, that with the hard top fitted from the factory, the softop doesn't fit all the way. Window adjustment is slightly different with softtop.
A:
My car is the same way, but with both tops. It's really a window adjustment issue vs being a soft top issue. Have your dealer adjust the window stops or tackle it yourself in about 10 minutes time with .
A:
Well worth adjusting the windows. I take my soft top off and put it back on (for parking) every day. It's a very sturdy top and, when the windows are adjusted, keeps water wout very well. I got trapped in a massive downpour near the Kansas/Colorado border last week with 70mph straight line winds from the north. All I had was just a little drip from the wind-driven side. The 2 inches of water on the highway was a little sphincter-tightening from time to time. But the top held up well (even to the marble-sized hail).

I guess I'm lucky, because I have no problems with either the soft or hard tops.
Don't use the hardtop much, but the soft one gets regular use. Very tight fit on both windows. No drops or leaks, even in driving rain and downpours.

I had my windows adjusted for the hardtop since I will be using that top every winter in the rain. When I first started using my softop I also had that huge gap you are describing. Over time the fabric has stretched a bit and now it is almost a snug fit. No more giant gap to look through...it just not flush yet.
A:
Fits like a glove and does not leak!
just say "no" to touring
A:
I've observed no trouble with either the hard or soft top.
A:
Hardtop and softtop get swapped out fairly regularly and they both fit tight. I've had the "pleasure" of having both fitments tested by driving rain. Oh, and mine's got the touring pack, so that's not the problem.
A:
looks like i'm going to have to send my car into newport to have the windows adjusted a bit...
A:
Count me in for a window adjustment ... except I would say mine is more like 1/4" on both sides in the right corner. I really haven't had the top on but I washed and waxed it this weekend and noticed the gap! I hope a window adjust works for me because the left side seems ok, the right side is not
A:
Good to quite good?

A:
soft top fits like a glove!
A:
A friend of mine and I have the same problem with ours. I had mine adjusted for the hard top and there is a slight gap for the soft top. Such is life.
A:
I have the touring package without hard-top. The soft top fits perfectly and has never leaked. It gets a fair amount of rain testing in Seattle.
A:
They all do that (well.... not all, but enough). Have the dealer adjust the window registers on warranty unless you just like tinkering with your $60k sports car yourself.
