Q:
That is what I use. If you use the random orbitor to apply the wax- keep going until you almost can't see the wax anymore. Then it is easy to remove excess.

I've been a big fan of Griot's Best of Show wax for my darker-colored vehicles, but I'd always found it to be a pain to remove, and I'd been on a quest to find something better...

Well, sorta... I've found it seems to depend a lot on the temp/humidity and when it's warm and humid, it's no fun. I applied it one day when it was relatively cool and dry (remember, I'm in FL, so that's why I said "relatively" ) and it was SO much easier to deal with.
Yours is a good tip, though, in that you can have a HUGE chore on your hands if you use too much! Yeah, been there, done that!
A:
Yeah, I live in the northwest corner of Washington State, so high heat isn't exactly a problem...
If you blow it on the removeal. Just wait awhile, then apply a bit more in a SMALL area. Same way, work it until you can hardly see the wax. Then clean that small area.
That gets a killer shine.
Some will wax the whole car- not removing any. Leave it overnight, then do the 'small section at a time' deal to put on another coat and clean.
Sounds haywire but it works quite well. When you apply the second coat the old wax melts and makes the whole deal easier.

Neat ideas. My problem is with the wax getting "smeary" (technical term ) in places. I usually get what my patience will allow, wait a day, then wash the car and use the spray-on wax. Then it looks great.
But, honestly, since I tried the Menzerna, I haven't used the Best of Show...

FMJ is very nice indeed. Gives more of a wet, deep look compared to Zaino, but not quite the warmth of carnauba. The companion QD is nice, but often smears, depending on the weather.
What kind of durability are you getting? That is its biggest downfall IMO. That and the pink staining.

I still use the Griot's Speed Shine as a quick detailer, quite happy with that so no reason to switch. As for the pink staining, I use the dark green microfiber sponges that come with the Car Care Kit, and wash them after use. I haven't had a problem!
Durability... well, I'd be able to answer that, but the FMJ is so easy to put on, I've been doing it after almost every wash, so, um, I dunno. I've found it almost addictive. Perhaps a 12-step program is in order?
A:
I also apply FMJ very often...probably every other wash. It seems to lose a significant amount of slickness after wash.
Detailer's Paradise also makes a QD called Slick which works exceptionally well with FMJ.

zaino zaino and yeah...zaino! all by hand too

I bought Zaino months ago but have been too lazy to do a full job with it. Instead I've been using NXT spray-on. Maybe once it warms up and I make some time I'll go ahead and Zaino the car.
NXT sure smells nice. ha!

Zymol, is by far and away the best detailing and cleaning. Is a tad expensive!!!

I agree. I use Klasse AIO followed by SG twice a year, with Carnuba applied every month or two to really make it look better (Carnuba is very easy to buff off as long as you don't let it dry). The SG is so hard to get off, that it actually caused me a shoulder injury (tendon impingement) because I rubbed so hard for so long. I even followed the directions for the SG and only applied a very very thin coat. I would probably stop using it if it wasn't for the fact that I bought a big bottle and I just can't bring myself to waste it. I just had to change my rubbing technique for it.
I used the Klasse AIO against last night. It reminded me what a PITA the SG is to remove. Maybe I'll stop using the SG. I bought some NXT. Maybe I'll put that over the AIO. Maybe I'll just use the AIO. Maybe I'll make up a few more initials to confuse people.

ZAINO!!!! - not difficult than a real "waxing" job. May take a bit more time at first but lasts longer and easier to maintain! The only thing I use on my '72XKE or Elise.

And "Rejex" as a final touch. Dirt just slides off....

i had detailwerkz do my car... they use zaino products... the pictures of my car were taken after the detail was completed and it's with 3m film on my car already

How about Maguires...anyone .... anyone?

I've tried just about everything out there, and after final getting Zaino after hearing so much about it, I just gave most of my other stuff away to a local kid that does detailing. I think I gave him 22 bottles of product! lol. I'm using the zaino wash, spray, etc. havn't done the whole car yet, as it recently got NXT, but after using it on my bike, helmet, and hardtop when I took it off for storage I was blown away. Easy to remove too.
There are a ton of good products out there. With spending the time, doing the prep, and enough coats you can get spectacular results even with your much cheaper products.

That's what I use - at that, I use the old paste wax (# 16 I think). And probably will until I run out. But I did buy the Rejex and use it on my wheels and the front of the car. The wheels come clean, and the bugs wash off easily...
