Help requested - how to fix/touch up splitter gel coat?

Interior Exterior

At the track a couple of week's ago my FF front splitter popped off in a couple of places (do NOT merely use self tapping screws for the 5 supplemental attachment points)... and the front leading edge got a little roughed up / scuffed. There are a couple 1/16" - 1/8" clear gel chunks taken out. I removed the splitter at the track and continued my driving day.
So... I was thinking that if I had a paint tray full of clear resin I could very carefully slide the edge through the tray, applying / touching up a new edge to the piece. Hang it front edge down and let it harden. Spray clear coat and be done with it.
Another thought was to simply apply a bead of clear silicone caulking to the edge, let it dry and be done with it.
I may post pictures once I stop feeling like a dumbass.
Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!

PM Randy. He's been through this.

darksol, have you re-install your front splitter? I am getting my splitter now and would like to install it right. So what do you recommend for installation so it stays during autocross and tracking? I will track once in a while and I do spirited driving every weekend, so definitely don't want a piece hanging.
Thanks.

Take the front undertray off and use stainless bolts/washers/nuts with blue locktite for all the auxiliary fasteners. Use the standard hardware for the main 3 attachment points.
If the front clam itself came off the splitter's not coming off - THIS time

blue locktite is glue, right? just to make sure.. thanks.
