either throw on an exige top (which still wouldn't make sense, as visually the scoop continues down the rear clam and hatch)....

If you're going to add all this stuff (cr*p) like side skirts, lambo-style doors, a system with serious bass and non-functional scoops, why did you bother buying an Elise?
Judging by the pattern I see, you would have done better with a Honda.

look, I need tunes, and the exlige looks good with the roof-scoop.

I've seen roof scoops on Toyota MR2s that look cool but the scoop opening is near the back and not the leading edge of the roof. Maybe something similar for the Elise? So far I haven't seen any I would ever consider modding the Elise with.

Don't even pay attention to them. It’s your car and you do what you like. Hell if they want to yell ghetto, yell it back to lotus for giving us an Exige with a fake roof scoop and fake front exhaust brake vent!! The Elise has its own fake rear vents by the tail light! Plus what’s the first mod any ricer does.... Exhaust.... what has most done on this forum. It’s a bunch of hypocrites that are attacking you if you ask me. Do what you like and don't look back. Glad to see another girl with an Elise. I am a guy but car meetings that turn into penis parties just isn’t fun. There I said it I feel better.

Hello Andrea, welcome to the gang. Many of us purists have a hard time understanding adding the 'not go fast' stuff to the car. That being said, many of the purists do things to their car, from painting engine covers to more involved items. They don't make the car go fast nor do they add weight. No worries.

I think he was pointing out that your comments recommending driving a Honda because she wants to upgrade the Elise as far as looks could be construed as being offensive and judgemental.
All that CF stuff is mostly for looks as well as wheels, stripes etc etc.I think her question is legit especially considering the Exige has a totally nonfunctional roof scoop.

I agree, the roof scoop looks nice, makes the car look more aggressive. I would like one on my Elise as well. Its just finding one that doesnt look cheesy, thats the chore. I think its way cool that a female is modding her Lotus. Most women I know wouldnt even notice if I changed the wheels on my car. Do what you like, if you dont like it you can change it. I have gone through three sets of wheels already trying to find a set that I like. If you do it, please post some pics! Welcome to the forum!

Suggestion after noting your post about a roof scoop! Go to Partsrack.com. It is a vendor that supplies aftermarket parts for the Viper . Many owner's were interested in roof scoop's @ Viper won Leman's in late 90's. The Viper roof measure's 37" and the elise 35 " to the end of the buttress. The scoops they make come 's painted and unpainted. They for the most part are well made and look good. They are secured by 3 -m , but your hrt's the limit. esp it use descide to go further and vent it . Will obviously need some minor shaping by a good body man. Price is very reasonable @ 279.00 unpainted. If you really wanted to get exotic, you could have work done to your top to open up when you desire and bring fresh air into the cabin. Hope this lead is a benefit. If you do it who know's you may be able to market a new product. The scoop's as you will see are well make and not just simply a square mound!
