Q:
I was in stop/go traffic for almost an hour today. It was 98 outside as well. Just curious as to what other fellow texans get in stop/go traffic like that.
A:
Glad you mentioned the heat. I was going to ask if you drove off a bridge. 225. that's fast! I mean hot!

A:
The hottest I've seen is 210F in stop and go. Drops to 190 as soon as I start moving.
A:
Was that sitting in traffic for an hour though?
Litterally...sitting.

recipients of the touring model got the two as standard
equipment but now you only get it standard with the
sport package. I believe one kicks in at about 207 and
the second one at about 216 degrees but a check of the
manual would confirm the 'kick in' points.
A:
The hottest to my knowledge was 210. Nicely warmed up is 191.

I never get over 200 in Texas anymore. Removing the exhaust heat shields, ported ceramic coated header without heat shields, and removing the license plate panel seem to get the heat out of the engine compartment faster.
A:
210 after 30 minutes on track with 90-95 ambient.
But my sportbike gets to 224 in stop-and-go before the fans kick in.
A:
221 degrees in Woodland Hills, CA during the heatwave. I was in bumper to bumper traffic in 110 degree weather/high humidity.

Mine don't have fans, I know they've overheated when the pistons seize up in the bores. Of course, in this heat, they're down several hp anyway and not much fun to ride.

Never gotten the Exige that hot, no sir - not even when giving it a good thrashing in the TX heat.
A:
highest for me was i think 206-207 when i was in traffic for about 2 hours in addison.. but it was night time... i don't know if anyone in texas was around addison on the 3rd of July... but it SUCKED!!!
A:
The highest I saw in my car was 229. The numbers start to blink at and above 225. I turned off the AC, and the temp quickly dropped below 220. I then turned the AC back on, but the temp stabilized at about 215. Weird.

Eliseparts has a module that has the fans kick-in sooner, though it might be for the S1 only. You could always install a manual switch for the fans. That's all I have on my S1 Seven, and I flip it on whenever I come to a stoplight. (Though it's a race-only car now)
A:
Was this water, air, or oil temp?
A:
water
