Why doesn't someone make this???

Interior Exterior

Q:
forget about cupholders - the thing that drives me crazy is not having a locking compartment in the car. No easily accessable safe place to leave radar detector, garage door opener, sunglasses, or those rubber thingies when I park the car.
how hard would it be to fabricate something like this to sit next to the heater/ac controls???
A:
yeah, but don't get rid of the A/c stuff...
you know the headlight switches? they have a blank plate on the pass. side where the controls went on the UK cars...
Someone should make that fold out abit...should be hollow behind it?
A:
Hah! Be careful where you store those rubber thingies, heat can weaken them and you can end up with lots of little Ivans.
A:
that is why it is important to turn over stock very quickly
A:
no cupholder. no storage space. no lockable "glove" compartment. all reasons (and many more) the lotuses don't make good daily drivers. sorry, just wanted to add my worthless 2 cents....
A:
My Valentine usually just makes it behind the pass seat. Unfortunatly that area is about as waterproof as the trunk, so I can't put anything there if it rains or the car is going to get washed. The V1 has gotten wet there but still works, a couple books have been absolutly destroyed. Locking? I'd be happy to find one DRY spot in the car! lol.
A:
Zip lock it and put it behind the seats, in the net. Can't see it back there.
A:
could you just hide things in ziplock under the passenger seat. It would set off the alarm if someone was looking by there?
A:
I use ziplock (zipper) bags as small storage compartments.
One of my favorite spots is the left rear corner next to the driver seat. makes grabbing things like glasses and ipods simple and it stays out of sight as well.

by Balance should answer your question(s). I've had it for six months now and highly recommend it.

A:
I put a bluetooth reciever in the right compartment, watch out for very very sharp edges. The cars like every good knife I've ever owned. Spilled my blood and didn't even feel it cut.
A:
Spilled my blood Now you and your Elise are blood brothers!
