What is the best thing to put on the front clam license area?

Interior Exterior

Q:
I’ve been debating what I should put up front on the clam in the license area. I have an Aspen White Elise and was thinking of either "LOTUS" or "Elise" in black stickers. I was just curious as to what others had done.
A:
have your license plate number made into a sticker...has saved me a few times. I realize it is not legal, but for police who have a sense of humor, it works.

I got the "elise" plates from Lotus that come w/ the "sill protectors". I sold the sill protectors on ebay to recoup some of the cost. This is an expensive way to go compared to stickers, but the results are really nice, at least on my ST elise. The only problem is that bug juice is starting to corrode the finish some, but there may be a way of polishing that out.

I think a low-profile, European-style tag would look pretty cool.
I have a Forced Fed sticker on mine, but I like stickers.

Get a silver ELISE decal from SweetDaddyD:
Nicely finished. Adds 0.0001 lbs.

I assume he has black ones too. Does anyone have those?

Post number 24 in this thread: has photos of my chrome sticky Elise letters on the front plinth of my Elise. I ordered them from SweetDaddyD here on the forum. It's still on their over a year later, and it's doing just fine...
Edit: I the time it took me to post this, someone already beat me to it.
And he can make them in just about any color you want - even reflective ones like on his car in the post above...

I got the "ELISE" decal from Keith (SweetDaddyDelicious) and I think it looks good. Mine is Metallic Silver.
It's been on for over 6 months and still looks great. Keith can make them in different colors too.

I think that bug splats are the best thing to put there. It shows you've been driving your car, not just detailing it.

That actually sounds really cool. I bought an Elise decal exactly like the back one, but size for the front, now you got me thinking to get it to say SPR VXN in that cool color and font.
Thanks

Another satisfied SweetDaddyD customer - this one in black on a CO (and front badge to match)

I think a low-profile, European-style tag would look pretty cool.
Here's an example:
The plate and black plastic around it came from www.licenseplates.tv; tape and mounting bar from Home Depot; velcro from Staples. I was worried about the velcro holding it, but the very first drive had 80MPH traffic, wind, rain, and then I accidentally banged it into the curb when parking and the velcro held well enough that the plate dented instead of moving. Even so, I stuck some thick foam weatherstripping (Home Depot) between the front of the clam and the bracket, as padding just in case the velcro does give way.

Just don't put a Volvo with bike rack" on your front clamshell. I know from first hand experience it will cost you many thousand$ and many weeks in the shop! See the green Elise....

I wondered about the european plate, but a standard one is much larger than the front area. Has anyone seen the swiss front plates? They are much smaller, and an imitation plate with US numbers could be perfect for avoiding police attention.
