I believe that's lighter than the KMS 15/16's and retail for the set of CE28's is about $1700. As for tires, I don't think there is much available in the US in 195/50/15 and 225/45/16 but here there are several tires made in those sizes to include the AD07's and A048's.
I'm not 100% sure if the fit right but I will be getting my car next week. I will put some on and size them up.

Adam,
I think you're in the ballpark for the weight of the Volks. I have 16x7 Volk LE37s on my MINI and they weigh 11.2 lbs each, so I would guess with the similar construction it would be 11.5 lbs or so.

KMS Forged wheels:
4.60kg (10.2lbs) 7J X 15
5.40kg (12lbs) 8.0J X 16
So the Volks are very light indeed. If they are perfectly balanced then they are very cheap too. I'd get a set. If someone gets these can they give a report on the balancing? The KMS wheels did'nt even need counterweights....
BTW, be sure the wheels clear the brake calipers on the fronts. This is a known problem with aftermarket wheels for the Elise.

The Volks a not perfectly balanced.
Did you have the tires balanced before mounting them on the wheels?
A:
FWIW SSR makes the Comps in 15x6.5 +30 and 16x7.5 +42. With a 5mm spacer in the rear, that should work great. The 15 is 8.7lbs and the 16 is 11.5lbs.
There is a 15x7 that will fit but I haven't found a 16x8 in the right bolt patern/offset. The SSR 15x7 is 9.35lbs so it is slightly heavier than the CE28 of the same size. An SSR 16x8 is 12.1lbs. Knowing that, I would say that the 16x8 CE28 is closer to 11.5lbs like John said. That is still about 30lbs less than the standard wheels. Also, I think you can save about 1lb from each tire.

Looks like the 15/16 SSRs and Toyo RA1 tires are a good streetable R-compound combination:

With the 038 supersoft tyres, the machine gave a balanced reading for all the wheels. We were quite surprised....
A:
That's amazing. I've never heard of that.
A:
Neither had I. Now I always try to source Jap parts, they just seem to be manufactured with so much attention to detail. Just look at their CF parts compared to UK or US products.
A:
If money was no object, you could investigate installing a Tilton clutch assembly.

Well, the Elise weight loss plan is mostly finished. In the end, I was not able to get the Kevlar fuel tank from the UK because the US gas tank is very different from the rest of the world and they don't have the resources to build it right now. It would have saved around 15lbs!
Anyway, if y'all recall, my LSS and Touring Elise weighed 1949lbs with the hardtop in place and a full tank of gas.
On Friday, it weighed in at 1825lbs with 3/4 tank.
I'm very pleased and excited with the results. Since then I've installed the CF mirrors and CF shift knob from sector111.com (so another 2lbs lost). I'm also awaiting CF interior door covers to replace the leather variants; not sure what they will save, I got them mainly for looks to go with the ReVerie CF seats. I also plan to install the CF "rest of world" diffuser; should be worth another 2lbs.
Tomorrow, I take it to the track for the first time after its weight reduction.
Oh, and for me, I'm now at 206, down six lbs Another 30lbs to go...
Here is a list of the current mods:

Pete,
Looks great! Did ya have fun? Scare anyone with that exhaust?

Why haven't you changed the wheels yet?

Indeed, I had lots of fun. I don't know about anyone else, but the exhaust got my attention above 6200RPM... what a screamer

Yes. I put this exhaust on before I was able to get on the high cam. I hit 601 miles and let it rip. The sound almost brought a tear to my eye. It's awesome.

Why haven't you changed the wheels yet?
1) The LSS wheels are hard to beat
2) I have a deposit on Shinoo's RAC wheels
I plan to use the LSS wheels for wet/street driving and the RAC wheels for slicks (Hoosiers and/or V710s).

Sorry about the audio; was using a new mic that apparently isn't working as expected

That's what I thought. Just wondering if you where waiting for a wheel other than the RACs.
