Q:
i am curious, how much has all this cost you so far?
I don't have a total (psychologically, keeping track of total cost of car mods is a bad idea ). But, almost everything has come from sector111.com so you can calculate the total for yourself; just please don't post it because I don't want to know .

How woul you like to shave 200lbs off your Elise? The CF body has arrived Soon we'll have an Elise with a complete CF body in the USA
Got CF?

Now that's a costco approach to weight loss.

BTW, Sleepless, I send you a PM. We spoke some time ago outside your work in Bellevue, where I pulled up in a black Mercedes. It was just after you had picked up your Elise. Mine is finally coming on the 25th. Jubiii

Sleepless,
Looks good. I really like your front splitter.
Didn't you also order the side scoops? If so, PLEASE post pictures of your car with the scoops and splitter when they're both installed. I have a BRP as well and am very interested in how it looks. On second thought, don't post pics or it'll cost me a lot of money.
Also, since a rear wing is recommended with the splitter, are you going to add one?
Thanks....

I have a BRP and should receive my side scoops tomorrow. I post pics after they're on.
Sleepless-- grats on all the cf goodies. I'm seriously considering springing for the CF hardtop. How does it fit? How do you like it?
Also, what do you think of the diffuser? I'm considering it, but it looks a little aggressive for my tastes. Were there any problems installing it?

Yes, my scoops arrived today. I will install them after having the clearcoated.
My understanding is that the diffuser provides enough extra downforce to match the front splitter well enough. I seriously dislike the ReVerie rear wing so am definitely not getting it. However, the Benetec wing looks pretty good; I just haven't quite come to terms with putting a wing on such a pretty car; even if it is functional. Time will tell...

The Benetic CF top is of excellent quality and fitment; I'm VERY pleased with it.
I also thought about the rear diffuser for a bit for the same reason; looks a bit odd (aggressive). But, it is functional and I've grown to like the looks of it; mainly from looking at pics of KMS Elise's car. So, now I like it just fine.

Pete,
Your car is looking sweet.
Dro,
The rear diffuser bolts to the stock locations. Very simple installation. Note Pete has the 111S rear difffuser that lacks a hole in it for the exhaust tips. Since he is running the Arqray single tip exhaust, he gets to have a solid diffuser.

Dro or Sleepless,
Do either of you have your side scoops installed yet? I'd really like to see a pic of them with the BRP.
Thanks

I'm a little embarrassed, but what do the splitters do? and are they attached in these pics and I can't see them?
And BTW, Sleepless your car looks fantastic!!!

I just got mine back from the painters where they were clearcoated. I'm off for a track driving trip so won't be installing them until sometime next week.

It's just the front spoiler. It is black CF in the pics.
And... thx!

Knucklehead,
Typically a splitter is an additional horizontal piece that mounts under the front edge of the body. It prevents the high pressure air that builds up on the front end from going under the car.
I agree, Sleepless' car is fantastic.

Thanks John,
If that's the theory, why are the splitters for this spoiler two pieces? Wouldn't it be more effective if it were one continuous piece that ran all the way across the spoiler? Like the one KMS just debut for example?

i noticed on eliseparts.com they offered a polycarbonate rear window...that should shave some weight.
We have experienced a glass rear window shattering caused by a stray stone at 70mph, not a pleasant experience. This rear screen is manufactured from almost unbreakable polycarbonate and less than 1/2 the price of an OE glass unit.
Supplied with new sealing rubber this screen is around 1/3rd the weight of standard glass yet incredibly strong.
A:
I tried to buy that window from them; they said it would not work on our cars because the window is glued on; I suppose of you didn't care about saving the old window if it broke and were interested in paying the labor for removing the rear clam, removing the window and gluing the polycarbonate window, it probably would work.
Too much cost and trouble for me.

It seems there at least two types of splitters; two-piece and one-piece. I don't know the theory behind them, but you can see several high performance cars that have a center "tunnel" for some air to go under the car (the F360 and F430 come to mind; I think the Enzo is done that way e too). Maybe the answer is a simple as "the two piece design scrapes less on driveways". Dunno??
BTW - I don't have the two splitters on my front spoiler; ReVerie sells the spoiler and two end splitter separately.

We finally got the scoops on the car:
