I have my Tamiflu I am not kidding

Love my micromirror. Anything larger would be superfluous, at least for me. I know what the seats looks like. I was shocked by the visibility I gained with the replacement. If you're concerned about the nighttime dimming situation, add the Gut spoiler. Completely blocks out SUV headlights.
Curiously, is there anyone who actually has the micromirror and dislikes it?
BTW, I have a STi with the brushed aluminum, and LOVE the way it looks.

I'm thinking Sector 111 should include a Kool-aid packet with every micromirror.

That is essentially what I made my mirror from. I suspect that you will find that the mirror is convex. I used one like that for a bit after I removed the OEM mirror, and didn't like it. Although I could see unobstructed out the front, the convex mirror showed all or the interior of the car (worse than the OEM) and you couldn't see any detail out the rear - I like to be able to determine if that car that is closing on me from the rear has a light bar on the roof or not...
That's why I used a mirror similar to that as a frame, and replaced the convex glass mirror with a flat mirror...

Just installed my micro mirror. It's great.

Well, I taped a 2"x4" ellipse to my mirror and so far I'm not liking it. I'll reserve my final opinion until I actually see one in person, but it seems too tall and too narrow. There's space between the seats I can't see and there's plenty off top and bottom that I can. Maybe my template is wrong?

Very true. I bought one from Shinoo's first lot, and couldn't be happier with it after many months.

I installed my micromirror today from www.sector111.com. I like it. (Only mod so far. Did it for safety reasons.)
Getting the stock mirror off had worried me. No matter how many posts I read, it just seemed like breaking the glass was inevitable, since there is little room between the base of the mirror and the windshield hoop. Eventually it occured to me that the clip can been seen from outside the car, looking down on the windshield. This helped in positioning the tool.

I am one that constantly uses the day\night featuer on all my cars that have had it.
I had some Talbot mirrors (www.talbotco.com) on my last Europa. Those were wonderful mirros, a bit expensive but well worth it. The glass was made such that some of the very bright light would 'leak through' the mirror portion. That way bright headlamps were not a problem.
Almost like tinted ones, but they didn't appear dark.
Now if the mirco mirror were made that way, I wouldn't whine about the day\night.
I'm very intested in the micro mirror, but also the Audi TT mirror somone mentioned.
Mark
You don't need the day night feature. The mirror is so small that you can just move your head 1" to the left if you have bright lights behind you. I find that the bigger problem is the side mirrors and the bright lights reflecting off of them.
If it is still a problem use your right foot
Buy one of the Micro Mirrors and if you don't like it Shinoo will take it back

What is the 'Gut spoiler' ?

Yep! I recently installed a micromirror as well, and found the combination doing it from above the car (top off of course) and using a paint can opener made this really, really easy.

I installed my micromirror yesterday. Love it! With the sun visors removed as well, it really opens up the view out the front. I don't have to constantly peer under that stuff anymore. And, it looks way cool in brushed aluminum!

Matt,
How did you use the paint can opener? Am I right in thinking that you DON't need to remove the window mounting piece the factory mirror attaches to?

When I installed my micromirror, I tried making some small L-bracket tools and picks to no avail. So I finally did the exact opposite of the suggestions: I found the largest screwdriver in my arsenal. I used it to pry the cover off as well as defeat the clip without undue pressure. Simply place it from the side and rotate it onto the metal clip will cause it to simultaneously push the clip down and move the old mirror mount down. Worked like a charm.
A:
I've removed my mirror very simply. I used an "o-ring pick" - it's a small tool with a pointed hooked end on it. I used a small screw driver to pry down the plastic cover, then used the hook to push down the metal clip. A small "bop" with my hand on the mirror, and it slid right off - too fast actually as I didn't have a towel on the dash to catch it - without damage to anything.
You can buy the O-ring picks at most any autoparts store with a tool selection for a few bucks. I think my Craftsman set (not the one I used, but higher quality) was less than $10. These are the cheapies ($4) that I used:

I used something like that when I removed my stock "touring" mirror and replaced it with the Micromirror.
