Hey guys, I was just curious why I'm seeing various front clam designs (grilles).
I've illustrated the points below! Some seems to have a thin "bridge" over the (higher/flatter) grille and others are solid with the grille angling further down...
Someone shed some light? Thanks!

Rover Elise on left, Toyota Elise on right. The Toyota car has less angled access panels in part because the brake booster hardware has to fit under there.

when the Elise was first announced for the US market they had said the left side (driver side) access panel would have a bulge in it to clear the brake booster. Lotus even had some pre-release cars that had this mini bulge.
I'm torn. I like the look of the steeper angled access panels but a asymmetric bulge would look odd.
