Rain-X Bug "repellent" spray

Interior Exterior

Q:
Has anyone tried the Rain-X bug spray for track days? Does it help with removing bugs and rubber marks afterwards? Is it fine on Starshield?
Thanks.
A:
I've not tried that, but have used the Griot's product "Bug Off" and have been EXTREMELY happy with the results. Helped me keep my sanity this lovebug season. Seemed fine on the clear mask on both the Lotus and the Mini. As the fleet manager of 5 cars, I can't wait until they start selling it by the gallon.
As a side note, I have an unconfirmed suspicion that it's the same as the overspray protectant stuff that body shops use and buy by the drum.

Use "Rejex" in those pesky areas first for less gunk...

Tried Rain-X repellent, but not at a track day; can't comment on rubber marks. For bugs, Rain-X works pretty well - same as the Griot's product. No problems with paint or plastic.
Hope this helps.

Rejex is great stuff. We applied rejex to our Exige two weeks ago. Yesterday, it took about 5 minutes to wipe the car clean with a damp terry cloth. The car looks just as good as it would after a two hour detail.
