Does anyone have a stock gauge face handy?

Interior Exterior

Q:
I need a 600dpi scan of a stock gauge face for a project I'm working on...
If that's not possible then I would love to borrow one for a couple of weeks while I work on the prototype...
Yes... I've almost completed a replacement gauge face that has an accurate mph scale. In addition several other features are available such as an actual 8500rpm redline marking (or higher if your ecu mods support it - it's coming!) and placing an icon over one of the unused led warning bulbs for low washer fluid. That would be very helpful with the Hass water/methanol injection.
It's also possible to rescale the speedo from 0-200mph if one of the CANBUS / yellow box guys are able to modify the signal appropriately... that would rock!
Anyway lots of features, options, colors... including new flat backlight colors.
I just need the data to complete the prototype... I could use my current car's gauge but I thought I'd ask if anyone had a spare first.
So... can anyone help?

How about a copy for 15/16" wheels?
A:
Anything's possible - I just need a stock blank to use.

Do the unused warnings actually have the LEDs poulated? I've been meaning to go in there and trying to light some up, but it sounds like you might have tried it.

How's this coming along?

How's this coming along? (a) Never got a PM/email regarding an available blank to work on
(b) I'm not brave enough to disassemble my own... yet
(c) Charlie may have a software/hardware solution down the road... he's seriously my alter-ego. If I only had the free time... (sigh)
Seriously, every day that I drive the car (2 or 3 times a week, cold start, while it's still in the garage) I do the guage reset procedure - along with the 60 second warmup. Kind of like a pre-launch checklist... And actually it's not that bad anymore - I've been driving with the DL-1/Dash-1 installed and compare the two constantly (mph as one of the displayed variables). It's still off by 7% at times, but other times it's dead on.
Bizarro!

That's even worse. Someone could be compensating for the 7% and wind up well into ticket territory.
Thanks for the update.

I have a solution however its unfortunately useless to the vast majority of owners.

fixing it in the ecu is easy enough, but getting it to everyone is not.

The correct fix is to reprogram the chip in the cluster, thats where the deliberate error really is. I've been trying to get someone who's taken off their cluster to take really good readable photographs of the chips so we can see what it is, most of thses clusters are reprogrammable, but you'd still have to remove it to put in the fix.

Another way is to have a black box that sits on the can bus intercepting the message and correcting it, this might work, but it may cause timing issues (seems unlikely) that'd be the easiest solution for most people, but you'd have to cut into the wiring to install it. It'd actually be pretty straightforward for the 05's the 06's have a very different CAN output and its still doable, but a little bit more of a hassle.

don't worry about taking apart your own cluster.. It is very easy to remove and disassemble..
1. unscrew 6 screws holding both the top piece of the steering and bottom piece
2. unplug the button for the trip reset
3. remove the upper gauge surround (4 clips holding it in tug hard)
4. unscrew the 4 screws holding the cluster to the dash
5. I'm sure you can figure the rest..
if you need some pictures I have a thread with some photos of the dash off a elise..

My '06 is exactly 7% off. I just checked it last night at 45, 55 65 and 75 MPH using my GPS. It was consistent across that range. I did a instrument cluster reset just before too.

Sounds like a reprogram is the way to go. What would I need to do to make this happen?

How do you know they all do that?

How do you know they all do that?
I don't
I have heard from other 06 owners that they had observed the same
A:
And one 06 owner just posted here and I believe another owner posted somewhere else that it's not always the case. Apparently, they don't all do that, sir.
Like, the 05's it appears some are correct and some aren't. Or, there's some other (such as measurement or repeatability) issue.

My 06 Elise is exactly 8% off when compared to GPS.

My 2005 is always 11% fast when compared to the radar speed display signs by the highway.
