Interior Exterior
Q:
Greetings everyone,
So, I got my boomerang rear tow eye from Sector 111 yesterday. It is a pretty nice piece, and beefy (which is good and bad) too. I held it up to see how it will fit and I think I would prefer the eye to come out a bit more than it will when mounted up. No installation instructions were included and neither was any mounting hardware.
So, for those of you that installed a rear tow eye from Sector 111, what did you do? It seems to me that you can't just bolt the eye to the existing two M8 diffuser to subframe bolts due to the convace area that these M8 bolts and their "fender" washers sit in???
If I had to venture a guess, I would have to say the following, from top to bottom...
1) diffuser
2) stock M8 "fender" washer
3) spacer (what height?)
4) tow eye
5) lock washer
6) Longer M8 bolt (to accomodate height of spacer, tow eye, and lock washer)
Then, as you move towards the trailing edge of the tow eye, would you put anything between the tow eye and the diffuser to help keep the two parts together / keep them from hitting / slapping against each other, i.e. double stick tape or even heavy duty exterior velcro (or double lock)?
Next, I got a mechanical black flag at my last track event for... the rubber / plastic edging strip hanging off of my diffuser. I need to glue the strip(s) back on. Can anyone recommend the proper adhesive? I was thinking 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (black)?
Thanks in advance,

Frank,
I was about to order a boomerang. Did you get any response/feedback on your questions/concerns?
Thanks,
Joe

i think i would on call sector 111 tech support monday morning, i am sure they can help you with any issue's , post there response because i would like to order one myself and now i am not sure if i should!
A:
I'm just guessing, but I suspect that the Sector111 product goes above the diffuser. That should solve all your mounting issues.

I would be surprised if it went above the diffuser, but I have been surprised before.
There may be an issue that the diffuser design has changed from Lotus in the area of the indentations of the bolts.

Greetings everyone,
Yes, S111 said to just use the factory fasteners.
I'm still not buying it though given the concave indentations that the M8 bolt heads sit in.
So, when I do get around to mounting it up, I will use spacers and longer bolts. I will attach some pics at that point
