I am considering having my steering wheel stitched with black alcantera leather for better grip.
Do you guys know if we can replace our steering wheel?
If so...what options are out there.

The removable adapter is optional. When changing your wheel you will need a new adapter boss and then virtually any aftermarket wheel you want. The Elise Exige has a 310 mm wheel, most people go for 320mm or 300mm as finding an aftermarket wheel with a diameter of 310mm is like trying to find hens teeth.......
If all you want is an alcantara version of the original Lotus wheel, then contact lotus, they do re triming of many of their parts.
