Q:
I'll give you $18,000 for the car since it looks like a total loss!
Really, this is great. I wish the service manual had photos!

So can you walk us through how to get the side panels off? I know about the cubby screws for the small panel and the two inside. What's next?
side pieces? Well first off you need to take off the airbag cover (break the plastic clips) ..then remove the whole gauge cluster surround.. remove the chubby cover.. take off the sills.. screws inside the chubby hole.. pull on the sides (they pop out).. the rest of the dash is screwed in.. lotus was kind enough to use the same screws and bolts all around.. (just the cluster are smaller)

please tell me you took close up pictures of the Circuit board identifying the various ICs

the LEDs look like fairly typical PCB mounted variety.

good to know, i always thought you had to remove half the dash to get to it.

nope.. it's the last part you put back in or first part you pull out.. just take off the screws and tug on the surround it is just held on by clips and velcro..

I believe I fixed mine by manually lowering the neddle slightly below zero..

that will help to a point but the error isn't (or at least shouldn't be )linear, hopefully it'll work in the areas where it really matters.
