Interior Exterior
Q:
I have noticed that the double sided foam tape that is under the plastic door sill covers tends to work its way out from under the cover. I showed it to my dealer at the car's 1000 mile service and the dealer replaced or repaired the foam tape extrusion problem. Unfortunately, within a few weeks the foam tape started sliding out again. I don't think the problem is anything serious, but I hate opening the door and seeing this foam tape squirting out from under the plastic door sill cover. Does anybody know of any fixes I can do to prevent or correct the problem? I have attached a couple of pictures that show the problem from the outside of the panel as well as the interior. Thanks for any help!

Dean, both of mine have done it. Seems worse on the drivers side, think using the sill for exit makes it move out quicker. I just ever so carefully trim it when it really gets obnoxious!

Also search for "spooge". Don't ask me who came up with this terminology.

I'm kind of starting to think my best chance of seeing your car is going to be in the service department.
Mine is doing it to but it's pretty clear . I figure I'll wait until it's around 110F to worry about it as it'll likely get a lot worse then.

I've just been trimming mine back with a razor whenever I notice it, seems to work well and keeps it clean for a couple of weeks.

Pull up the plastic cover ever so gently and push it back in....
