Hi Brett,
I think you should also give some details about what would be included in such a kit (such as a wing, front splitter, diffuser)). I also assume you are making it out of dry pre-impreg material.

Hey, if we all say $5,000 maybe that will be the price.......
A:
5k if it looks like the current one out there, closer to 10 if it makes a McLaren look like an 85 civic, IE it would have to be AWESOME!
A:
This is an interesting question. Sector111 sells a cf body kit for $49,936
Your poll only goes up to 30k.
A:
Obviously $40,000 plus is ludicrous for any body kit for this car. Here is what I am proposing for our kit:
Carbon Fiber Exige Body Kit:
Wide front clam kit with splitter
Side Sills
Wider Rear Clam with enlarged air scoops
Hardtop with roof snorkel
Exige fastback engine lid
Rear adjustable Wing
Rear Diffuser

So the stock doors you'd keep, right?
A:
Of course everyone would like this to be as cheap as possible (including me). I understand that this is quite complicated and all these parts would cost a lot. However, I voted for $5000 because for $10,000 I would rather go for the supercharger.

Yes.
A:
I can see this kit being a big seller especially for those who have to replace a clamshell or two because of a shunt. When you look at the cost of two factory clamshells plus the apx. $4000 +/- cost difference between the Exige and a LSS hardtop Elise, the CF kit looks very attractive.

I voted $10k, but I'd also be willing to offer up the stock clams and hardtop in exchange. So I guess $15-20k if you include aftermarket value for those parts.
A:
PS - are there any existing wheels that would mount flush on a wide-body Elise?
A:
Zero -- I need to have the top off!
A:
A nice option, especially if you're replacing clams anyway, but I don't want to be the guy driving the "wannabe" Exige. If I went this route, I'd just sell my Elise (blasphemy! ) and buy an Exige.
A:
It's tough to make a proper judgement on this for you guys without seeing what you have in mind. Just because it's carbon fiber doesnt mean it will fit and finish well, or it could be the coolest kit going. I guess if the parts really spoke to us we would pay what ever you asked, but if we didnt like it we wouldnt be interested so it really comes down to personal taste to determine cost. $10,000.00 doesnt sound to bad though if we liked it.

The only thing that changes in the exige when you remove the hardtop is that it loses some of its aeordyamic downforce. I haven't seen any numbers but given the body shape it should still be better than an elise.
A:
Same finish as the Black Sport Exige car, same exact material they used.

So you planning on making it look like this:
Or like this:

that's a tough question. I have no idea.
