So Where's the Glovebox Door You Promised Me?

Interior Exterior

Q:
IIRC, no less than 3 people said that making a glovebox door was their first project when they received their new Elises. Did anyone bother?
A:
I was probably one off those three people. I had planned to replace the plastic cover on the passenger side cubbyhole area with a door, problem is, there's no usable space behind that cover and thus a door would be useless. I considered putting a door over the opening in the storage shelf/tray to the right of the HVAC controls, but much prefer how it looks as is.

I had my lovely wife sew me a bag in the shape of a cylinder that fits just right!
She says it sucks because it's her first portotype but I can fit all the paperwork, pen, pencil, a big a$$ tube of sunscreen and a can of fix-a-flat in there!!!
Good stuff!

Good stuff! Yeah, I'm thinking a cylindrical bag would be easy and effective. Maybe clear, so you can really see what's in it.
A:
For extra storage in the cabin I simply purchased
one of those black vinyl pouches at my local auto
parts store, it measures about 12" L by 6" high,
and using velcro strips, attached it to the rug-like
material on the furthest front portion of the lower
side wall in the passenger's foot well area. I can
reach it quite easily and it does hold my CD's, a
pad and pen, and a tire pressure indicator with room
to spare for other things as well.

right now I am working on making a carbon fiber cover/door for the "tray" area so I can have a useable glovebox.. I'm trying to decide if I should make a cutout for the A/C controls and make the panel go all the way to the driver's side for continuity's sake. more updates to come later!
