Hey all,
Does anyone have a good custom upholstery shop somewhere around Dallas TX? I'm willing to drive a fair distance to find a shop that does really high quality work. I ask because I'd like to get a ballpark estimate on the cost to add some red leather inserts into some bits of the seats and doors. My car isn't ordered yet so I'm also going to find out if it makes more sense for me to get the Touring Pack and alter the leather already on the car or to just get the standard interior and get all custom leather.

As noted in the threads on "leather consoles", the Lotus Trim shop can do anything you want for the interior, and the prices are reasonable. Replacing the egg-shaped inserts in the doors in perforated leather is around $70 -80 for the pair, for example. Takes about six weeks, the product is shipped to your door.

For small things like the doors and the center console, the Lotus Trim Shop would be a no brainer. The problem is, I want to make my future Exige interior look like the 240R interior and that invovles some new leather bits for the seats. Does anyone know if I could ship my seats to the trim shop to have them done? And honestly, shipping seats overseas and then back again is probably going to be prohibitively expensive anyway.
I'm currently trying to figure out if it makes more sense for me to get my Exige with the base interior and have all the leather done custom, or to get the Touring Pack and have the leather altered with new bits. I've made arrangements to stop over at Johnny Saunders place sometime soon and get a quote, so thanks for the lead jjb.
