Window washer fluid flow problem

Interior Exterior

Q:
My window washer fluid mechanism is inoperative and I'm trying to determine the problem. Shortly after buying my Elise last year, I bought a detailing bundle from Detailer's Paradise (a forum sponsor). In it was an additive (not sure of brand) to add to the window washer fluid. Nick, from Detailers Paradise, told me that the additive would improve window cleaning. Since I only very rarely use the washers (because of concern with window scratches), I had little experience with the additive or washer but subsequently found that the washer stream was no longer operative. When I took it to the dealer to have it fixed, they said that there was a soap texture to the washer fluid and said that whatever I had added to the fluid was now rendering the washing system inoperative. They replaced the nozzles and tried to flush it, but it has since become inoperative again. I corresponded with Nick and he said he had never heard of the problem before, which raises doubts for me that the dealer diagnosis was correct. So, anyone have similar problems or some novel insights into the problem? Just for the record, I am otherwise very pleased with the products provided by Detailer's Paradise and have found Nick's customer support to be excellent. I recommend them.

When you hit the button, is the impeller on the washer pump spinning?
A:
I assume yes. Sometimes I get small squirts of foamy fluid on the window.

I have always put one of those small, inline, $1 plastic filters in the fluid line to keep contaminates out of the nozzle. Takes 1 minute to install. I never clogged one after that and the crap that the filter catches over the years is amazing.
Try it!

Try it! That is a great idea. Did you do it to your Elise? Could you post a picture?

No, the Elise is a track car to me. Lots of RainX on the windscreen. No washer fluid resevoir after the first couple of weeks of ownership so no need. Do it to all my street cars.
