Just got our Elise back from the body shop. Had a pretty bad ding in the rear center and chose to fix and add the stripes. I had intended to do the stripes all along (finally - my avatar was just a pipe dream). Painted OVER the clear bra in front and got everthing done for a fraction of the repair estimate. My clear bra has more than paid for itself and any dings/chips on the new paint will be easy and cheap to fix, plus I did not want to pay for a new front bra or remove it. Will advise how this works over time!

Looks great! Where did You get the stripe. I have admired the single stripe on your avitar for a while.

I live in Napa, CA. Took it to a body shop - owner's kid goes to 5th grade with my 10 year old. He did a really detailed and fantastic job repairing the clam and painting the stripes. Stripes goe into every seam and over and down the roll bar, which looks really great with the top off (picture shows why top is not off now!). Also repaired an area around the right rear wheel and replaced the broken reflector (I provided parts). At the same time I removed the center console and AC surround and had him paint it the same yellow as the stripes. Whole thing was about $2,500 - repair for just the rear ding and flex cracks was estimated $3,500 and with the rear quarter/reflector would have been over $4k!

BTW - I had looked into vinyl stripes but could not find anyone who could do this scheme. I was hopint to bet extra protection with the vinyl but molding to curves was an issue, as was finding thin enough vinyl without some bleed through (though sweetdaddy would have had the material I am sure!) with yellow over BRG. Would have been much less expensive but I really like the results I got this way.

Tim,
Nice job !
I must have you over for lunch so I can see it in person.
The rain might let up later in the week, if you have some time.
Cheers !
