Q:
Seems like there are many hater around LA area, I was wondering what is the best way to remove Key scratch on the paint of the car??
A:
depending on how bad it is (if its deep and cut through the paint its probably going to need some professional attention ) anywhere from a wax stick matched colour to cover it up, a matching paint pen will do it to a noticeable but reasonable level, beyond that its a case of paint levellers, paint and clear and a lot of patience
there are a lot of mobile auto detailers that do this, generally they do the dent removal too, and cheaper than the dealer.
A:
thank you very much for the helpful info.

Depending on the color and whether the paint is metallic or pearl, it can be hard to do a good job of a spot repair. Many dealerships have relationships with folks who do this kind of work, so what I'd do is go to/call a "high-line" dealership and inquire about it and ask about who does their work and/or who they would recommend. They may also be able to show you examples of the work, too.

Great article on touching up scratches. Don't overlook this part:
"Once you’ve filled the chip, allow it to dry for another 24 to 48 hours. The longer the better."
The deeper the scratch, the more the touch up paint will shrink, so I typically resist the urge to do any sanding until the next weekend. When I'm touching up a friend's car, convincing them to wait is usually the hardest part. Also, non-metallic paints are the easiest to touch up, while pearlescent is the most difficult.
Good luck,
John
