Harness bar comments, critiques, caveats, suggestions?

Interior Exterior

Q:
Hey gang... I'm looking into harness bars specifically for camera mounting (though seats/harnesses could be a possibility down the line). Is there any conventional wisdom regarding Shinoo's 4Tress harness versus the one from BlackWatch racing versus the one from Eliseparts? I know some folks are reluctant to share critical reviews, but I really would like the most honest feedback possible. I don't have any experience with harness bars, so I'm starting from scratch, knowledge-wise. I am leaning toward Sector 111's out of loyalty, but I do want to make sure that the build quality and camera-mount options are problem-free.

Thanks!

After looking at a number of different bars from around the world to include the Lotus sport version. I finally settled on the bar that Shinoo sells. It takes up little room (I have to adjust the seat to the rearmost position). It requires no cutting or mods that cannot be reversed and it wreaks of quality. Some of the ones I looked at are just one step above homemade with birdsh!t welds and poor overall design. My only wish is that the harness bar sector 111 sells had been set up for "bolt in" type belts. Yes, I realize that you wanted it more for a camera mount but at some point you might want to use the other function it provides and safety is the name of the game.

Actually, I may want to run harnesses at some point; I just don't have enough money for new seats.

Any bolt in harness can be wrapped around the bar; is there something about a bolt in harness that makes it superior?

Given what's out there for our car not many do.

I ended up with the 4Tress from Sector111. I'm quite happy with it. It bolts on in two places, installs in under 2 hours, and is completely non-invasive and can be removed (not that you ever will). Taking out the pax seat is the most annoying part of the installation. The welds are nice and clean, and the bar itself almost fit on the first try (I had to bend the support brackets a few degrees each, no big deal ,took a total of 15 seconds and some pushing on them while standing (light force). /----------\ it's kind of like that, so the / part was slightly at the wrong angle on both sides.
I was worried about rotation of the bar in an impact and I strongly believe the 4Tress will not do so because of the double bolts on each side, one of which is in compression and the other in shear (at 90 deg to each other), just like a lotus factory bar...
No comment on the camera mounts, never used it.
Cheers

Clip-ins can be removed in seconds. Leave the intertias in place and you can convert from street to track and back very quickly and easily.
