Interior Exterior
Q:
I really like the look of this guy, completes the look of the car, IMHO.
However, what's keeping me from pulling the trigger is those two hook-like pieces that seem to latch onto the rear lip. For whatever reason, this really bugs me. My question is, would it be possible to carefully dremel these hooks off of the spoiler for a "cleaner" look, without sacrificing the structure or benefits of the wing? Do they play a large part in its fitment?

I believe you'd be sacrificing structural integrity. I actually had the same concern when I purchased the wing. Upon closer inspection, however, you notice that the "hooks" are actually mini splitters which extend toward the deck lid. I rater like them, now. Don seems to think they provide an aero benefit.

If I may ask..what is the "GUT" spoiler? Do you have pics. I would like to see....

Hijack - Hey Alan, where'd you get the IPod adaptor? That would be a great gift for my wife's birthday!

So far, one legitimate response (Thanks, Serebo)?
Anyone else consider doing something like this?
A:
Boooooo
Sorry! I'm desparate! Her birthday's this weekend and I have no clue what to get...

Actually got it from Patricko, but you can pick it up here.
I have to say, however, that in my experience, it's a real P.O.S. Control is awful, it doesn't do much of what it says it will, and oft times you end up using it as you would a straight aux line in.

Cool. Thanks for the info! Now back to the question at hand...

My default place to get nice, cheaper, generic-woman gifts. Which isn't to say your wife is generic, but you may find it useful?

Hey Serebo,
Was it hard to install the Gut?
A:
Edit - Nevermind.

Install is quite easy, actually. That being said, I didn't do it... but I could have without much concern. The spoiler/splitter/wing come unpainted, so your best bet is having the body shop that does the paint do the install.
The great thing about the wing is that you do not drill into the clam, so it may be easily removed in the future. I think that's HUGE.

The last gift I got my wife was the Lotus! Oh, and the house-cleaner
She NEEDS a cheaper generic gift...

Thanks Serebo. Have you posted any pics with your spoiler on?

Thanks - Don't know where you're located, but Specialty Car Craft did the work. I noticed they just did another GUT install. Great job as always!!
They might be a good place to call with the question of removing the "hooks."

Dude,
You need to take some new shots of your car with the new top. It's a much cleaner line IMO. A prettier setting would be nice too.
