CO with Biscuit??

Interior Exterior

Q:
Anyone have any pics of the CO with Biscuit interior. I was in a Biscuit interior one (thanks Kris) this weekend (well monday) and loved the fact that even after sitting in the blazing sun for over an hour it was still pretty cool, (unlike the black I AM SURE).
Wondering what it would look like.
Thanks
Ryan
A:
or keep the better looking black interior and use one of shinoo's shower caps on the car if you want to keep the leather cool.
A:
Def thinking about getting that once i get my car, but when i am sitting in starbucks or the book store outside or near the water here at the beach or wherever I don't really want to have the shower cap on there but that's me. Hence the biscuit interior.
I also don't like the look of the showercap either. Any idea how long it takes to put on? 5 secs? 10 secs? 30? a minute?
Ryan
A:
never timed it but very fast. there are plastic connectors on straps that wrap around the mirrors, the front slips under the wiper bade and the rear attaches with velcro strips (this is the part that gave me pause as it requires attaching velcro strips to the car but i got over it). far faster than putting the soft top on plus it keeps the sun out...and light rain as well.
A:
I can get my full cover on in about a minute, so I would think the shower cap woudl be a lot less. The most involved part is figuring out which way is front.
A:
I read somewhere that all colors of leather heat up to the exact same temperature at the same rates; that the belief that black interiors get hotter is false.

this was posted a month or two ago...

You're welcome, Ryan. I had a good time. Sorry I didn't call you yesterday when I got Stage II'd. With CO, I would probably get black interior and either live with the heat or get the shower cap. My TT has black leather and I don't find it unbearable. I do usually put the top up and I do have tinted windows, though. Even top down it still doesn't bother me.

Not exactly true. The black leather will heat up faster, but both will end up at the same temperature if left in the sun long enough. Check it out - http://phoenix.about.com/od/car/qt/carcolor.htm . Either way, I can tell you that the beach is way cooler than the parking lot when walking in bare feet.
A:
Ryan,
As you know I have the Mag Blue with black interior. (I would love to see Kris's mag blue with biscuit sometime.) In this Florida sun my interior gets HOT fast! So hot that it would get uncomfortable to sit in. I bought a full car cover that tucks away in the corner of the boot. It takes me about a minute to put it on or take it off. I go everywhere with it and always use it.
A:
Ken,
If you want, get with Ryan or PM me and maybe we could all meet. I know he wants to check out the Stage II on my car.

Having looked at that link, this one sentence stands out: "I haven't any empirical evidence of my own to share with you, but having read about 20 articles on the topic, here are my conclusions:"
Basically, she doesn't know what she is talking about. As you noticed at the beach, darker surfaces absorb more energy from the sunlight, lighter ones reflect more. Next time you are in a parking lot on a bright sunny day, put your hand on a white car and then try it with a black car. I guarantee you the black car will be hotter.

i have a co with biscuit interior, it looks better than the black in my opinion, and feels more sportier. The black doesn't do it for me. you won't be dissapointed everyone has complimented on how great it looks plus its rare b/c most people get CO and black interior.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I was going to post that I assume that she was only touching on cars with their windows up. Therefore, you get a greenhouse effect and ultimately the interior will reflect the amount of IR radiation that cannot escape. Not true with our cars with tops off. I was also going to bring into play how a light mill works. It's one of those scientific toys that looks kind of like a clear light bulb and has four diamonds with black on one side and white on the other and they rotate about an axis when exposed to a decent light source. It basically works because of the differential heating of the different colored sides.

Honestly, I now feel the same about my magnetic blue/biscuit. Initially, I was hesitant as my past four cars have had a black leather interior. I really like it now, so it's possible that CO with biscuit could also grow on me. My main fear was that the carpeting would also be biscuit, which would get dirty as hell. Thankfully, it's black!

I have the shower cap and the full cover.
The full cover is more involved to put on, especially if you use the cable and lock, which I feel is necessary to avoid theft. You do need to be careful in windy conditions, as the cable has too much slack and the cover starts to lift and beat the cable and lock against the side of the car unless you loop it around one of the eyes several times. I use the full cover if I am leaving the car somewhere for several hours or in a location where I want to deflect attention.
The shower cap is very easy to put on, probably less than a minute. It covers the front windshield and cockpit, but not the rear window, so it really cuts down on sun damage and keeps the car cooler. I use it when I leave the car parked outside for more than a short time. The velcro attachments work fine - you do have to attach four separate strips to the underside of the shell holding the rear window, but if you do it right they are completely hidden.
If you have the soft top plus the full car cover plus the shower cap in your trunk, there isn't a lot of space left over, but you can still get a bag or two in there if you arrange things right. You could squeeze the shower cap in its little bag behind the seat, but I haven't chosen to do that so far. The full cover in its bag can be stuffed into one of the corners of the trunk, but it's a little bulky - perhaps it you rolled it right, you could get it behind the seats.
In any case, I find that I am using both the shower cap and the full cover in different situations and they are quite useful and well worth the money. Plus, sky blue looks really cool on Saffron Yellow.

I bought a full cover before my car arrived and I haven't had it on the car once. I will use it when I put the car into storage for the winter. It only takes a minute to put the top on, although I leave the car uncovered unless I think it is going to rain.

HEY THE NEWGUY
Can you snap A TON of pics for me and send them to me or post them here?
I would love to see what they look like up close. I have no idea and that 1 pic I cannot tell very well.
Thanks
Much appreciated..
