Justin,
Damn, you're good. Spot on, I never noticed the vertical stitching diff. The 05 does have two verti panels on the back to the 3 on the 06.
Good catch

interesting... i'll check my car for that... some more proof about these seats not being 06 then
A:
blue,
just to confirm, my 06 seats DON't have the probax tag but DO have the 3 vertical panels. Just assumed no tag meant they weren't probax. Perhaps they put the tag on seats later in production.

How do they feel compared to the 05 car? I would think since you have experience with them you would notice the change immediately. Everyone seems to rave about the probax.
I wish Lotus would sell us 05 people the probax insert. It would be even better if they could custom trim it like how people have the center consoles done. Red alcantara would be great.

here are some pics i took this morning.... i don't know what the difference is... but i did notice something comparing the pics by charliex
the word "exige" seems to be stitched a little higher... i'm wondering if its the camera angle but doesn't look like it is...

I'm not able to tell any difference between the feel of the 05 and 06. But I was always comfortable with the 05 seats.

Hmmm... edited my post. Go figure - I must have confused my car with someone else's as mine doesn't have the tags. I could have sworn it had them - even checked behind the seats to see if both of them, although unlikely, might have fallen off.
Mine is a late build, probably the last Exige my dealer received.
If you manage to get a set of tags from Lotus, let me know. I wouldn't mind having a set to put on mine - feel free to mention my car when you're talking to the dealer.

my car's seats have the tags. build date 12/05, delivery date 1/06, 2006 model with touring package leather seats.

My car has the Probax tags, but they are black and have a rubberized texture. My Exige was built in January '06.

No, Charlie has the cloth (non-touring) seats -- different "Exige script" location as a result.

yep!

i've got the touring pack with the leather seats and mine doesn't have the little tag that says Probax on it... then i noticed (i believe it was maxster's exige) have the seats but with the tag... i didn't really think about it until i took my car in for service again...
i walked into the showroom while talking with craig... and took a look at the CO exige w/touring and the AS exige w/ touring... one of them had the tags and the other didn't... i couldn't really tell a difference...
You're right, I have the tags. Along with the Touring Pack (by accident). My car is the katest build that I have seen for an 06 Exige: March 06, it that is of any help.
May ask: Why are the tags important?
A:
Those have the insert patern (two vertical lines, three sections versus one line and two) of the probax.
My money says it is a probax insert and seat. Maybe they ran out of tags to put on it. Better to ship the car and seats then wait for the tags.
A:
the reason for me posting about the tags are about the actual seats...
the tags i could care less about if they were there or not... but if not having the tags mean that i have a different sent of seats compared to the ones that do have the tags... then i feel i've got a problem that needs to be taken care of... especially if it has to do with cost/comfort... if it's the same exact seat as the ones with tags... then i'm good
once again... i could live without the tags...

i couldn't tell jack with those pictures...
speaking of Jack ... his stitching seems lower than mine also...

I thought Chris had cleared it up with this? 2 panels=no probax. 3 panels=yes.
