A different approach that would be understated, meaningful to most Elise owners and mean nothing to the general population. A front fender dacal styled like the 111R has only making it 111T. For those that aren't familiar with the 111R decal, here is a (poor) picture of one:

On the off-chance you do get your doors blown off by someone, it would be bad enough having them brag that they just beat an Elise.....It would be worse having them brag that they just beat a turbocharged Elise. I vote for stealth.
Yeah, but what are the odds of that happening? Besides, I can take a loss loss like a man, and if it did happen, I would be very interested in knowing what the other driver had under the hood.

I was thinking something like this:
I made it a little funky and playful.
I would make it the same color as the car color.
Just an idea...

I like the turbo image with the turbo wheel in the middle of the "o", but I'm not so sure I could get a vinyl decal to match chrome orange paint, especially with the shadowing you've added. I think it would look odd and tacked on. I think the shadowing would make it look like it was trying to be 3-dimensional, and without being 3-dimensional, I don't think a sticker the same color as the car is a good idea since it would essentially be invisible, and might even look like a paint blemish (which I have enough of already). It's hard to say for sure without seeing it on a car though, and I think it would depend on the color of the car. Chrome orange is a particularly hard color to get things to match with (stripes, for example - what goes besides black?).

Technically, it would be "what's under the bonnet". It is an English car after all...
Yeah. But Tim, isn't it both a bonnet and a boot at the same time? What would you call that? A boonet? A bonnoot?

Oh thats easy to solve. My friend can make that in clear vinyl with the shadowing imprinted on the edges. You'll have a nice effect and 100% color match. As to you other objections I can't help you there.

Shiftlock, that was just a concept. It is definitely pliable.

I think I'm done. I think I'm going with this. It's the font mentioned earlier in this thread, modified to more closely match the Elise lettering.
A:
Are you just adding a TURBO decal to the already existing ELISE lettering?

Well, I'm having them both printed, but I am using the factory ELISE lettering. Getting the TURBO part to somewhat match the ELISE part was quite a bit of work. First I had to find a font that somewhat matched (thanks to someone in this thread), then I had to shorten the inside of the R and the B, extend the bottom of the B, totally modify the leg of the R, and add a slant to the end of every line in each letter. I think I ended up with something that looks almost factory. Understated is what I am going for.
For what it's worth, here is the way the TURBO looked before my modifications, and after. The difference is subtle perhaps, but I think the modified vesion matches the Elise lettering a bit better.

This one is good . (After all you did pay $7 grand for the work, I would want people to know it's in there. This does it without shoving it in your face.)

I could design the Elise font style lettering without the font. And even put the turbo wheel in there for grins.
The Elise lettering may have never been a font, someone might have just rendered it.

Yes, I believe that's true, and creating other letters to match isn't as easy as it sounds. There's a lot of options for each letter, and which way you make them is up to the creativity of the artist. A font set created by one artist to match the Elise lettering would most likely look very much different than a font set created by another artists.
If you're up for the challenge, create the TURBO characters to match the ELISE letters. If they come out better than what I've done (above), I'll pay you a fair price for your work. BTW, I have very little artistic ability, so I have no doubt someone could do a better job than I did.

Here is the Turbo with an Elise font I created. If you want to use it let me know and I will clean it up and size it for printing.
..of course if you are marketing it, please give a tad to Elisetalk. Thanks!

Well, thanks to everyone's advice, and SweetDaddyD who made it for me, here's the finished decal installed on my car. This is a brushed aluminum-look vinyl. I also had one made in black, and one in grey. Opinions of the finished product?
Now I have to get my car into Jay's shop (it's all arranged, I'm just waiting for a time that works for both his shop and my schedule). The car is in storage, so at least I'm not driving it around with a "Turbo" badge and no turbo.

I like it- I still prefer the stealth mode, but it looks great on the car (particularly a CO like mine!). The aluminum letters look great also.
I wonder how it would look if the "turbo" was in a non-CO orange to blend it in a bit...? Did someone say photoshop?
A:
Thanks for the compliments. I think it came out fantastic. Glad you got what you wanted, even if I was a little slow in getting it done for you. I'll keep it on file if you ever need any more, want a different size, etc.
I can't wait to here how awesome that turbo is. It looks like a fantastic setup and Jay seems like a stand up guy offering a great kit for a very fair price.

Subtle and classic.
