Front Lip Protection with Line-X

Interior Exterior

Q:
After getting my first "big" scuff (while parking of all things - rolled right into those parking concrete blocks), I looked at some options on protecting my front lip. My friend with a Noble M400 took it to a local Line-X shop to get his front lip sprayed and it turned out really well so I called them up, brought my car in,... and 3 hours later, had on my car, what I believe to be at least, a very OEM look with very serious protection.
First a pic of the ding on my lip... and then a quick pic of them prepping the car for the Line-X

Some more of the prep...

And the final result...

Whew - your car is black. It doesn't work on colored cars. Do a search for a more liberal application on a Lazer Blue car a while back. The owner ended up having it sanded off and repainting the panels.
It matches pretty nicely with the metallic in the SB. Also nice that you went tastefully subtle with it. Looks good.

The spray goes all the way to the bottom very cleanly and protects pretty much the entire bottom front. I didn't get the front "license" plate area done because frankly,... we couldn't figure out a way to get it done without it looking all weird.
The Line-X that I have on is 1/8" thick and is EXTREMELY tough. My friend has scraped his Noble on random driveways many times and you can't even tell where he hit the nose.
I paid $200 flat for all of the work including one random moment where I was "concerned" (read: fully questioned) about where they had taped off to do the spray... which may explain why it took 3 hours instead of 2. These guys here in Torrance were very thorough and friendly, and had one heckuva time following the lines of the car to properly cover it, and without scratching it up to hell.
I'm not affiliated with them in any way... just am very happy with the final result and figured I'd share. If you want, feel free to give them a call. I know they did one other silver Elise before mine... not sure who that was... but theirs looked very similar to my covering.

Whoa... Josh... you got in here quick! Thanks for the compliment.
Yeah, I really like how it looks too. There was another silver Elise that they had photos of that they did... I don't know if I can get those pics though, but it didn't look bad at all.

I guess it can protect in scrape situations, but if you're talking about concrete blocks, I would imagine the clam would crack, no? Just don't pull all the way in...esp since the car is so short. If you have cars adjacent to you that are long, they might block a person who wants to park from seeing your car until they zip in and are surprised to find a car parked there!
A:
I have a Line-x bedliner. It's great stuff.
Since my car is BRP, I opted for the Lotus scuff guards.
It was difficult enough watching them scuff up the paint in my Ram's bed so the Line-x would stick. Would really be something to watch them do that to my Elise.

You'd think I would've learned from my other cars... but noooo... I forgot and just sort of let go of the brake and rather "gracefully" rolled right into and onto the concrete block. Hence the scrape.
But yeah... this thing rocks. I have yet to test mine... but others I know that have it scrape everything and nothing happens.
I was told that they're actually using this stuff to "armor" the Humvees and provide strength to bomb shelters. Isn't science great??

Yeah... I was actually shocked when they started to do that to that lip... but they were gentle and only did as much as they needed,... and not with gusto as I hear some shops do.
A:
that looks really nice. the blacks blend nicely and look OEM.
sure looks better than the blue car. that was a bad joke!
A:
nevermind... i think i found some of the images...
