Interior Exterior
Q:
Well, I got the prototype E-brake leather boot today that was discussed in this thread: http://elisetalk.com/forums/showthre...ght=plantation
Here are a couple of pictures of it installed. The worksmanship is fine and the leather is a good match for the factory shifter leather. It just slides over the emergency brake and tucks in around the opening. A very simple install. I do not know what the retail price will be. I am happy with the outcome.
On the console mod, well, I have been anxious to try and quiet down the shifter area and decided to line the underside of my console with Dynamat (a previous post by Bruce from Houston gave me this idea). I had the console out anyway since I have been painting it this week and put in the Dynamat. (photos below) It is quieter, but I cannot quantify the improvement. This, along with Stan's mod of an additional bolt on the shifter bracket are a significant improvement over stock on both shifter noise and shifter feel.
Yeah, I know, I probably added two pounds to my car's weight with these mods. Guess I'll have to skip a meal or two...

WHoa! That is sweet! Can it be done by them in yellow with black boots and yellow stitching?
A:
I'm eyeing the little side pockets on the door sills.
Where did you get those?

I saw one of these factory leather consoles at LOG last weekend. It was yellow. Unfortunately the yellow didn't match the factory Saffron Yellow paint. It looked odd in my opinion. Better to be safe with a leather that matches the interior. Too hard to get a leather dye to match the exterior.

I guess I could go with this version then

That looks amazing!
$280 incl shipping? That sounds very cheap. Do you mind explaining what the process is? Do you send in your old console and they trim it and send it back or...?
