E-Brake Boot and Console Mod

Interior Exterior

Q:

where can you order those seats?
They're a Lotus part. Don't know if they'll sell them separately from the 240R or not. If your dealer doesn't know where to start, maybe you should contact the Lotus Trim Shop directly.
A:
Thanks Andy,
I am sure that my dealer has no clue, as they dont even know if the Exige is coming over yet.

To order the console,go to the parts department have them fill out a trim order form. Yon can ask for just about any combo. 5 weeks later a new console is delivered to your dealer. The fee to install is about 1. 1/2 hours.
And did only run $280.00 for just the console. The old console is yours to keep. The side pockets are a Lotus part as well.
A:
Would those sill pockets be Lotus Part # LOTAC05290? Did you order them from Grouplotus.com trim shop? What was the delivered price in $$$$?
A:
The part # is LOTAC05290 I found them in the Lotus ACCESSORIE BOOK.
A good place to find most of these accesories, is Eric in the parts dept.@ NewPort Beach Lotus.
I think they where around $25.00 each.
A:
Or you can try this Lotus after trim. You order it from the parts department.
$280.00 shiped to your dealer new console and all.
Having a problem getting this done at HRM. Could you give me a name and number of where you got this done so that I may order it or expain how it is done to another dealer.

Doesn't HRM do this kind of custom work here in the US? I think they charge well over $500 for the leather center console. They quoted me $200 just for the emergency brake boot!! It does not surprise me that they are "having a problem" locating how to order direct from Lotus for half price...

I think that a leather console and leather e-brake boot cost about $900 through HRM. Add the cost of a red leather shift lever boot and you're well over $1,000. Under $300 right from Lotus and warranteed too sounds pretty good.
A:
Chris,
Having lived with the Dynamat mod a little while, would you do it again?

They did initially point me in the direction of the HRM version which was much more. I explained to the rep there about me wanting the official Lotus after trim service done instead and about the much lower cost. The rep didnt give me a hard time and honestly seemed unaware of how to do this. To his credit he said if I can find out from any source of how to get the form he would be glad to do it for me. I don't think anything funny is going on there I just dont think they know how.
A:
The best thing for you to do is call Lotus in the USA.And tell them that you would like to have your dealer use the "Trim Order form" however they do not seem to know what that is. The # is 770-476-6540 That is how I started with my console project.

Yes, I would do it again. I love to tinker anyway, and the hour or so I spent installing the Dynamat was no big deal really. I do believe it has helped with noise attenuation in the shifter area. It is a worthwhile mod IMO. Of the four things I did all at once I think I would rate them in this order as far as improvement goes:
1. Stan's shifter bolt and washer mod
2. Console paint
3. Dynamat
4. Ebrake boot

Thanks for the feedback. When I do the Stan shifter mod, I'm going to do some test driving with the console off also to see if there is any resonance from the aluminum shifter assembly. Some dampening might possibly work there also. Without the console on I can check all that stuff in there for vibration.
A:
Wow that part looks fast
Peace Troy

We have it on our new lotus page to order now. We have over 35 colors and in Alcantara black. We can also do decorative contrasting french seams.
We don't have the shifboot pattern yet but hope to have one by one of your fellow elise owners to have a proper pattern so we can stock. We are open to ideas for Elise owners and as for that console we can also make those here at AGLA @ 200.00. We have done similar work for porsche consoles for years. We also restore / customise steering wheels if any of you are interested. A padded alcantara wheel is a popular BMW steering wheel we do.

1.800.780.4500 I just called and ordered one. Took less than 3 minutes. I talked to a very nice gentleman - quite professional.
If the product is as nice as the service then this is highly recommended!
A:
Yep, I ordered one earlier today. Quick & easy. Alan Gunn says the response has been better than he expected, the orders coming primarily from those who saw it here first!
Will post some piccys when I get it next week- unless someone beats me to it.
