Q:
I have purchased the aluminum semi shift gate kit or the wifes Elise. Since the kit comes without any form of mounting instruction I was wondering if anyone else has installed one of these in their cars.
The plate has two obvious mounting screws on either side of the opening, but it is the third screw at the rear of the plate that raises question.
Is there meant to be a clip of some sort to hold the back end of the plate down?

I have one, mine came like that as well. Need to take out the console and drill holes. I'm matching the screw with a nut and putting a rubber gromet there. Fitting the leather boot around it is a b*$ch so fiddle with it a bit before you take things apart.
