EliseTalk Detailing Bundle

Interior Exterior

Q:
At least with my S100 can, the actual container that the wax is held in has come apart from the outside shell. This means that when I close the lid tightly, I get a loud rubbing sound of the two shells sliding against one another. Appears they glued them together. What a weird design.
Nick, any intention of carrying Menzerna products? They are sort of redundant, given you carry the Einszett line, but I'm just wondering.
420hp,
We are considering doing a series of detailing articles, with perhaps some Elise specific content, for a small portion the Club111 newsletter. It's not a video, but would that be of any interest?

I think many here would be very interested. Going to some of those detaling forums is a pain because you have to weed through all the information. Some of the "how to" documents I have read assume too many things (like your car is old and the paint is in bad condition). They don't cover technique and specific tools..etc
I'd like to see something that addresses:
-taking delivery and what to do in the first "detailing" session
-specifics on what to do for maintaining. ( i know this will vary with product)
-what to use and when to use aggressive polishes. Pics and examples of these things would be nice.
-detailing with PC and without.
-specific tips about detaing and elise if there are any.

I think the Menzerna line is good quality. We may pick it up in the future, but as you pointed out, we have the 1Z polishes. Right now we are focusing on a wide variety of products. As we grow, we will add depth to each type of product.
420HP-It's a great idea and definitely something we have been kicking around. Lately, all of our efforts have been in getting a retail store opened. Once that gets stabilized, we will move onto other projects.

That would be very interesting, IMO. In this area though, a picture might be worth a 1000 words, but a video would be worth much much more.
Maybe a West Coast get together and see some live demonstations by the experts would be another possibility. A detailing "workshop"?

Probably could be arranged for a Club111 type thing, and I bet there is someone with some real talent lurking out there too. Just as long as we get to drive before/after!

It's something we have been trying to do with the local car clubs. In April we had one for the Audi Club. It was very hands-on with a donor car and several polishers. Everyone had a chance to try out the PC in a controlled environment. It seemed to go over really well.

Placed my order and received it very quickly. It was here when my car arrived, all covered in bugs. The car, not the shipment.
The mit is awesome. So is that carwash stuff.

I'm too lazy to spend much time on detailing, plus I will be too busy driving and having fun. But I like the looks of the kit so I expect to spring for it. Mostly for washing and drying the car, which doesn't take much time with a small car and generally is enough to make me happy. I refuse to wax a car more than a couple of times a year, so synthetic it is.
I probably missed it, but what are we using on the wheel spokes and leather interior, dash and soft top? [I suppose I will be giving up Armor All based on what y'all have said].
Thanks for putting together a package to make it easy for slackers like me.
A:
okay, the starter bundle, does look good, but why not list a 'Complete Bundle' too. A bundle with window, leather, carpeting, tire products, basically everything we'd need
I plan on purchasing all these products the instant my car gets here, and if you (detailers paradise) have one recommended for us, I'll just get the whole thing there. Even if it costs a $200-$250, it would save me (and probably others) the aggravation of going store to store finding just the right item.

I second the 'complete bundle' request. My car's got wheels, tyres, bits of black plastic, leather, glass, etc. too and I need those bits cleaning.
A:
Thanks for the suggestion. I would be happy to put more comprehensive EliseTalk bundle together. I'll pick out some of my favorites for the package.
I'm afraid, however, I may not be able to get to it until next week. My grandmother passed away and I need to be out of town for a few days. Please be patient and know that I haven't forgotten about you.
A:
No problem for me, I won't receive my car till February

I ordered S100 from a Motorcycle detailing place, and instead of wax I got a very agressive cleaner/solvent. Spray on, rinse off, grease gone and metal all clean and bare.
So.. be careful if looking for the P21S "motorcycle" substitute. not all "S100" products are identical.
A:
Nick, sorry to hear.
GL,
What exactly did you order? What did you receive? S100 has an entire line of products.
Maybe you got the total cycle cleaner which is P21S total auto wash, and can be dilluted depending on your usage. They do seem to translate pretty well across the ranges, but each have some exclusive products.

Yep, that's it exactly!
I have to say I like the stuff. It made quick work of the oily gunk on my motorcycle wheels and kickstand.
I'll have to be more careful about getting it on my chain, though -- it left many rust spots after the water dried. Agressive stuff.
A:
Thank you Vantage.
Ground Loop. That stuff is a great engine cleaner too. You may want to dilute it though.
If you want to try out a new chain lube, give the einszett Ultra-Gel a shot. Our local Ducati dealer swears by it. It is the only lube they will use in their shop.
A:
Any tips on what to cover before spraying down a modern engine bay? Stuffed the intakes and covered any electrical boxes I could find, but maybe I'm missing something.
A:
Some cars can leak water around the base of the distributor cap if the o-ring is missing (or never existed on that model).
A:
Maybe instead of a second "everything" bundle, how about making the second bundle "everything else" so the complete kit would be to buy bundle 1 and bundle 2, but for those of use with Zaino and towels, we can still get bundle 2?
Just a thought....
A:
Since mention was made of Leather care products, the manual specifically states that the leather does not need special leather products, and recommends against their usage.
Any comments?
